Urban Oasis began on the principals of efficiency, ecologically sensible and timeless landscape designs. It’s owners backgrounds are in environmental science and have therefore looked at the company through these eyes.

Rooted in the philosophies of Ecological Sensible Practice, much of the staff has backgrounds and degrees in environmental science as well. > One of the worst services ever experienced. Completely taken advantage of.

> -Dave did not fix the brick siding to our house that he damaged, even after agreeing to do so.
> -Employee did not take accountability for crashing into, and denting, our pre-existing garden box
> -Installed a faulty sprinkler line ( had a hole in the main line pipe) and did not fix it. Dave told me that he would have to charge me to fix it. I found this to be very confusing considering I had already paid him to install it, expecting it to be done with working supplies.
> -Steps installed out of measurement codes.
> -A few expensive plants had no water line installed to them and are now dead.
> -The project ran extremely over budget, with no change orders.
> -Convinced to be billed hourly (my mistake) and had very novice individuals running equipment and constructing major parts of the project they had very little previous experience doing. Small jobs took PAINFULLY long.
> -Parts of the project that were completed incorrectly and needed to be re-done were billed for twice.
> -Invoices were rarely correct. I had to personally keep track of employee hours to rest assured I was not being over billed.
> -We received invoices that had been paid for 8 months after the job was completed, presenting themselves as if they were outstanding.
> -The company had a high rate of turn over with very little oversite from the owner or any project manager.
> -Little to no landscaping paper was used, allowing weeds to grow everywhere.

> When I moved into my home 13 years ago, I had never maintained a water feature of any kind.  I either had to find some competent professionals to help me or fill it in and completely change the landscape of my backyard.  After significant financial investment with half a dozen "water feature experts", I found Urban Oasis Design.  They not only addressed the issues with my pond (of which there were many), they redesigned my entire yard, making my pond the focal point of the backyard.  Instead of a large wet hole, they transformed my pond into a beautiful natural aquatic setting.  Their efforts were artistic and professional.  Their expertise regarding the needs of my fish was a bonus.    I won't allow anyone to touch my pond except David Bailey and his team.

> We had Urban Oasis install a pergola and flagstone patio in 2010.  Our neighbors complained to the city because they thought the pergola was to close to their property line, we found out they didn't pull a permit for the work,. The city made UO modify the design, which made the design look out of balance. Within a year the wood on top started to twist and now there are large cracks. I fear it will one day give way.  A few of the large stones in patio have settled causing a noticeable sloping. I do understand that happens. We reached out to Urban Oasis to have these problems fixed, he offered a few ideas on how we can fix them and couldn't refer us to anyone who could. If you want a reno that lasts long. I cannot recommend this company

Properly setting expectations, yes dry set stones do move over time wood without proper maintenance does degrade. I apologize to this customer because we did not spend enough time discussing the maintenance required to upkeep our installation.
> Another issue is that people often times enjoy saving money and time by not pulling permits. Live and learn, we no longer allow this option.

> We could not be happier having worked with Urban Oasis to landscape our back yard.  They are all very professional and creative.  We felt an immediate connection with everyone at the company and we could not recommend them highly enough.  Their design ideas and attention to detail are rare among run-of-the-mill landscaping companies in this business here in the Boulder area - if you want a strip of sod lawn and five trees around the perimeter of your property then you should look elsewhere.  These guys are the real deal and true landscaping artists.

It truly becomes more beautiful with every year that passes.  We are only going into our third summer with our Urban Oasis landscape, but it looks as if it has been there for much longer.  The care they put into every detail, from the types of plants and rocks used, to the way the water flows through the yard is exceptional.

> We hired Urban Oasis to do the landscaping on our new house constructions in Lyons.  They came up with a plan that was amazing!  It contained every aspect of our wishes, and then some.  They listened to our wants and incorporated that in to a plan.  In addition, they came up with things we never would have dreamed of, which far exceeded our expectations (the water feature they created was impressive).  Furthermore, they put a touch on the design and finished yard that is unique to Urban Oasis.  That is, most landscapers in the area all do the same 'cookie cutter' designs.  If that is your thing, Urban Oasis can do it, but if you want something that is unique to your style, wants, and surroundings then I'd highly recommend Urban Oasis over others.

They consider the practical usage for each person's different needs when designing a very personally tailored landscape. They are definitely not your typical wam bam knock it out cookie cutter landscape company like most other companies we see around.  They are also well known to be the best around at stonework. > Urban Oasis did our backyard in the Erie/Lafayette area. They planned a largely xeriscape backyard with swales to conserve and use runoff water. They graded, installed hardscape (a really cool red stone from Lyons,) planted clover patches, and ran irrigation. Their prices were lower than many competitors (especially exciting considering many of the competitors do nothing more than lay sod, run underground sprinklers, and use landscape fabric and rock, and those competitors are still more expensive!) Because we like to work in our yard, we took over at that point to buy and spread mulch, plant trees and ornamental grasses, and scatter wildflower seeds. Urban Oasis continues to advise us on which plants to put where, and we will have them back for phase 2 when we want to expand the hardscape walkway and add a shade sail. Our neighbors have just signed up to do their yard with Urban Oasis as well! Having a sustainable yard that uses very little water is saving us a lot of money on our water bill, and the butterflies love our yard! I can't wait to see the native fauna show up when our native plants get a little older. :-)
