A couple well-reviewed companies came out. One bid, in particular, seemed astronomical. I did not appreciate that folks were coming out to bid on replacing the whole roof, whether needed or not. Then Johnny came. He was friendly, kind & courteous, a great communicator. He called in advance to confirm, showed up exactly when scheduled, was calm & present. He walked me through what he saw and what the roof needed. His suggestion was to replace one section, repair a part & do maintenance on the rest. I appreciated the explanations, demonstrations. Many of the other companies would show up for site visits, but it felt rushed and they didn't really bother to hear my concerns/questions/ideas whereas Jake took the time to chat through shingle colors, warranties, skylights and unique scheduling that involved my rafters being replaced in between the roof teardown and rebuild. During the job, there were a couple minor differences of expectations with - all of which were addressed promptly with texts/calls to Jake.
