> I worked with Susan with Savvy Interiors on an extensive design for the interior of our home in Rancho Santa Fe. We designed the spaces, renovated multiple rooms, painted throughout the home, purchased furniture, accessories, and linens. I am based in Texas and was seeking a team I felt could get the job done, could manage the execution well, and communicate clearly with a remote client. Susan delivered it all. Beautiful design, well thought out furniture plans, and back up options to everything that came up or didn’t work out. The fact that Savvy is both a designer and general contractor was a significant benefit. I never had to work with multiple teams and it made the overall experience seamless. Communication was clear and timely. I never felt pushed into a decision and appreciated feeling part of the creative process. The result is a home that is polished, intentional, and beautiful, but distinctly our style. I highly recommend Savvy Interiors and would never work with anyone else.

> I am immensely grateful that Susan offered me design consulting via an hourly package. We were buying a new “builder vanilla” home in another state, and I wanted to turn it into something beautiful and personal—but I was essentially starting from zero and desperately needed experienced guidance. Because the house was out of state, and because I’m fairly frugal, hiring Savvy Interiors for a full-service design wasn’t practical. Susan’s consulting option turned out to be the perfect middle ground.

> Our first major issue was the flooring—and Susan may have saved me from a $70,000 mistake.

> We have roughly 2,700 square feet, and I had convinced myself that I should choose very light hardwood in the widest planks I could find because that seemed to be where the market was going. But something kept stopping me from actually placing the order. I knew I wasn’t confident, so I followed my instinct and asked for help.

> Susan listened to me describe my style, what I wanted the house to feel like, and what I was trying to accomplish. We talked through the flooring, and almost immediately she knew which direction I should go. More importantly, she understood WHY it was right for my house rather than simply following a trend.

> We bought our house remotely from London. I had been researching SD design firms and Susan was able to slide us in between other projects. They visited the house while we were still in London and got started on designs. They encouraged us to move into the house for a few months to determine what we liked and didn't like. This was good as there were certain walls that we ended up removing as part of the process.

> Susan and her team worked with us to multiple iterations of the design. We were able to make aesthetic changes and budget conscious ones as well. They pushed back when I wanted to make certain aesthetic choices that we'd likely be unhappy with down the line like "thats way too much white oak". Overall we were happy with the design and the process. They assisted us in appliance shopping as well w/ Pirch - luckily we were some of the last folks who got our appliances delivered.

> Project Management:
> Taylor and Deanna were our project managers and they were both outstanding. They were on top of the sub-contractors. They updated us on progress every couple of days and came out to visit the site multiple times a week.

> Cost:
> I think we were somewhere in the $400-500k range. There were certain things that we paid a lot for - ie our flooring - but I am so happy with it and feel like it was well spent and the craftsmanship is remarkable. Savvy wasn't the cheapest, but it also wasn't the most expensive and at the end of the day I feel like it was fair pricing for the level of oversight and detail.

> All the subcontractors were amazing. Flooring, electrical, custom cabinetry, countertops, paint. They have a strong team and were super pleasant to chat with.

> Post-install:
> Susan and her team have been very responsive even after the project completion. On a project this big, of course a couple of things went wrong - ie countertop shifted due to weight, paint peeling on a cabinet, appliance malfunction. Each time, I got a super prompt response from her team (within minutes), and the coordinated sending out a team to fix it without charge. Overall I'm super happy with the overall experience.

Their design presentations nailed almost everything we needed in the space we had to work with.  Savvy listened in great detail every time we spoke and along with our inspiration and their professional skills and knowledge, designed a BEAUTIFUL kitchen that flowed with our house and lifestyle. > BUDGET: Money is always a sensitive topic. You hear the horror stories about renovating and people running about of money.  We addressed the budget in great detail and I am here to tell you that Savvy stuck to the budget 100% (on the other hand my husband and I might have decided to change a few things for a splurge here and there - and Susan and her team always made sure that we were aware of the budget change BEFORE it happened).

I will tell you, that once it was complete I was a little sad they would be leaving - as I got to know them and they felt like family!

> HONESTY:  Anyone that has every done any project to their house knows that it doesn’t come without hiccups. I am sure we would all love to do a remodel with the perfect path - not one single life issue or construction hiccup along the way - but that’s not reality. I KNOW if I had tried to do this without Susan and her team - the amount of problems would have been EXPONENTIAL to what occurred.  Hiring a design team does NOT mean that this will not happen - it’s construction. We had one - maybe two - issues during the process and it was handled right away. We moved forward, met with her a few times and she helped us with color and paint selection. We liked her design advice, came up with a plan, but then came the execution...She said that she blocked some dates for the work to be completed using subcontractors. I received an estimate for carpet material from a supplier she uses where she gets a discount which would be passed along to us. I looked it over and the estimate seemed a bit high. To check it out I called a different carpet supplier and discovered that Saavy was charging over $1000 more! After inquiring about this to see if she could match the carpet price or just use the other supplier, Susan became defensive and said "they don't provide the same level of service" then sent me a letter stating that our scheduled dates for the carpet and paint is now booked for other clients and she does not have any openings for another 2 months. Saavy may have a good sense of design and can provide some helpful design ideas, but I would not recommend using them to execute any work. They overcharge for material without concern and are unable to keep their promises.

As I have always said, we can generally meet any "written"  price comparison with our vendors and were happy to do so. Given your timeline and our heavy client load, I did mention that you would need to give us a weeks notice to schedule our contractors as our calendar was filling up. When we didn't receive notice, we had to keep our contractors busy and employed. We do put our clients first and want to make sure they receive the utmost care and attention. My current clients had been waiting for installations and with your uncertainty of timing ongoing, it became imperative I prioritize.
