We feel very fortunate to regard architecture as our passion, a passion grounded in a functional reality. Architecture is the very unique practice lying between the arts and engineering, the creative alongside the scientific.

To put it simply, we see ourselves as assembling a puzzle, taking the distinctive fragments of a new project and unifying them into a successful design. Collaboration is the key to the design's success. The client's needs, desires, and ideas are welcome and necessary to the creative iteration process. We feel that a project's context is far more than the site location and surroundings, and actually encompasses the users as well.

We feel that clients will benefit from our years of experience and world travels. Each project completed is a learning experience that accumulates for the benefit of the next. We truly enjoy the design process and the variety each project brings. We are extremely open-minded and believe in creating designs that are both stimulating for the client as well as for ourselves as we work. Our task is to do the best job possible under the unique conditions of each project.

### Reviews

**★★★★★ — David Neil Black, June 2025**

> We were smitten by the Rockingham house and tried (unsuccessfully) to buy it. In the aftermath, we decided that we had "lost the house" but gained an architect. I have always been an ardent fan of modern architecture and wanted a mid-century modern since childhood, Rockingham was clear evidence that Steve already spoke the same language, yet he dug deep into his vast knowledge and expertise, as well as getting to really know us as clients. He brought all of that and more to our project. Our house was completed in 2017 and I felt compelled to write this review now because we have lived in one of "his" houses for 8 years. I both love and appreciate it far more than I did when we moved in. Yes, it's great to be excited about your plan, thrilled when you're building it, then relieved when you finally get to move in. It's even more satisfying when you've lived in it long enough to really experience the final result and know that there's nothing you would change. Thank you, Steve!

> We are builders and have worked with Steve, Celeste and Caitlin on many projects. They are all creative, knowledgeable, accessible and a pleasure to collaborate with. They're up to date with the ever changing city requirements/codes and approach each new project with professionalism and an open mind. We appreciate their attentiveness to our concerns and/or needs and we will continue to utilize their architectural expertise in the future.

> Highly recommend Steve! He helped us remodel our 1950's sprawling ranch into an open transitional space that we love and is perfect for entertaining. He had to move interior and exterior walls, windows, stairs and merge every angle of roof line for a fabulous effect. Steve is thoughtful and provides great feedback. He also listens well, which was really important to us and our project. He knows the city and its cumbersome requirements. We give Steve five stars and repeatedly recommend him to friends.

> Steve Zagorski designed our remodel/addition in Austin, Texas. He helped remodel an existing 1970's traditional 2300 square foot home by removing walls and re configuring the kitchen and bedrooms. He also designed an addition of a play room, office and master suite (1100 square feet) to the existing home. He was very hands on. He walked the property with us several times to understand our wish list. Steve did a great job redesigning the house and used every bit of space. We are so happy with the design and the fact that we do not have any wasted space. He created a design that transformed a traditional home into a modern home. Steve visited the project as often as we needed. He was very easy to work with even when we kept changing the plans. We really appreciated his time on the property. He always did a thorough walk through of the property when he came out and found mistakes that were being made by the framers. Steve worked well with our contractor.
>
> We would recommend Steve on any project. We would definitely work with Steve again. We are happy to discuss the process and share before and after pictures.

> I've collaborated with Steve on architecture on two of my personal residences. His architectural knowledge and creativity coupled with his technical skills made the design and construction of my house efficient and a pleasure. Steve has a unique collaborative ability to use his knowledge and skills while still listening to the client's needs/desires.

**★★★★ — moekittycat, Jan. 2013**

> Steve was great to work with. He designed our new home. It was a large remodel project that turned our small 800 square foot 1 story house into a 2 story home for my family. We can now stay in the neighborhood we love because there is adequate room to grow
>
> He listened to what we needed and was able to deliver a fantastic final design. He was able to find very easy and workable solutions to problems on our lot He assisted the builder in getting approvals through the city.
>
> Although we were not able to complete all elements of his design due to cost constrictions, we are planning on adding them in the future
>
> I would recommend Steve for any design project that you maybe undertaking.

**★★★★★ — Moazami Homes, Oct. 2012**

> I owned a design/build company that does inner city re-development.All projects are developer owned and built as speculative ventures. Steve was involved in the process of subdividing a lot that required preliminary design concepts so we could gather support from an existing neighborhood .Those concepts were transferred to building plans and he acquired all permits and compliance documents in order to build. He allowed my design and finish schedules to be a part of his architecture and had no over bearing ego with taking creative input from myself.A pleasure to work with.
