Despite the fact that we were looking at purchasing over $100k of windows we got told that our project wasn't "worth their time" by Liza Sanchez-Warner. We ended up purchasing Sierra Pacific windows instead, much less performant, but it was a lot more pleasant sales experience. I feel like we dodged a bullet. **★ — HU-130805360, Dec. 2021** > We purchased Zola windows for our new home on the Pacific Ocean at the Washington Coast. I would highly recommend you AVOID this manufacturer. They are a NIGHTMARE to deal with. If I could have given them zero stars I would have. They shipped over 4 months late. Their customer service, when in fact you could find someone to help you, is totally incompetent. They arrived broken and we were told we must take a photo of the broken windows PRIOR to breaking the "seal" on the cargo container! Sorry, I do not have X-ray vision and neither does my camera. Even when they arrived it was a fight to get them delivered at an appropriate time that would allow for adequate resources to offload them (each pallet was loaded with 5,000 pounds of product). The price you pay is astronomical compared to other options and there was no one responsible to whom concerns could be escalated. AVOID ZOLA! There were several changes that were made to our order by Zola without them being explained/specifically identified (ie. they changed window dimensions because of their production limitations). I completely understand production limitations but these should have been communicated instead of waiting for me to find them in the detailed review. Further, a couple of the errors were identified in the order review (ie. window size and window color) but 1 significant item was not identified, the door swing of the front door. After reaching out to Zola for potential correction they refused to accept any responsibility even though the front door did not agree with the plans provided. > > After several emails back and forth begging Zola for a solution an email was received were Zola stated the windows/doors were cheaper than what I originally paid. This was extremely concerning as I was pushed by Zola to finalize my order and provide a deposit to avoid a 5% price increase. It's such an honor to see our windows and doors in these amazing homes. **★ — User, Dec. 2017** > Zola windows were specified by the architect for a project in NY metro area. The windows and doors look good except for the interior stand out about 3/4" into the house side frame and the weather strip is visible, (looks ugly). The order was for the most part complete, the shipment was only missing some hardware and a connection piece to mull the windows that we had made locally because we couldn't wait for a shipment from Europe. > As far as performance, they are good , except for the fact the weatherstripping is a major problem. Our project manager noticed the weatherstripping falling off of all of the door frames and door units. We called for service and were told to send pictures. Luckily it was within the 60 day warranty period specified by Zola's contract, we sent the pictures and never heard anything back. We have delivered the new home to the client, during the final walk through he too noticed the weather strip and requested it be repaired. We e-mailed Zola again and have had a few conversations with them with no relief. They wanted to charge us 2500.00 to have a technician come out and see the problem, we were unwilling to pay to have obvious manufacturers defect fixed. We will not use this product again and will retrofit with new weatherstripping so the new homeowner will have a weather proof house. As we are based in Colorado, we do need to charge you for a service visit in case you would like us to fly one of our technicians out to perform this work in New York. Video/telephone support is complimentary and should be sufficient for this pretty straightforward issue. > > We are not sure what you are referring to with regards to the 60-day warranty period. One of these is a pre-certified Passive House. The most striking thing about the windows is the overall quality. They are beautiful and very well built with have such a solid, bombproof feeling that it inspires the crew to install them perfectly. The installation with the supplied clips and screws is straight forward and structurally sound. Executing the air and weather barrier is also easy to understand and ends with a result I am confident will stand the test of time. The hardware allows for complete adjustment so that the operation can be tuned perfectly and the double weather seal guarantees air and water tightness. Everyone who experiences the operation of the doors and windows notices the solid feeling and positive closure and is impressed or even blown away.
