Having had many bad experiences with contractors in the past, I was a little leery. Peter could not have been more professional, knowledgeable, straightforward or honest. He walked me through the whole process, found me the perfect architect, and assembled an incredible team to inform and guide me through each step. His subcontractors were equally professional and capable and TIMELY! The house was finished close to the expected time and punch list items were tended to expediently. They have promised and acted on the promise to continue to maintain the house, and address any issues that come up in the indefinite future. As they put it, "We are your contractors for life." They recently established a maintenance division and their philosophy is to maintain the homes they build long after they have been built. > > As with any home building process we did face a few challenges. The process took longer that we expected so I would recommend frankly addressing that in the very beginning so that everyone is on the same page. As I mentioned earlier, quality really does take time and it well worth the wait. > > As the house was nearing completion there were a lot of logistics happening simultaneously that were challenging to coordinate. Moving is a lot of work but I think better communication on our part and better planning with Fallon in the last 6 weeks might have helped the process go more smoothly. Fallon was working really hard to get everything done right and well, and the end of a project may inevitably always be a scramble for both client and builder (kind of like last minute packing before a trip and you're really hoping you don't run out of time). > > For our specific home building project, it would have been helpful to have a little more lead time to make decisions so that we didn't feel rushed about getting everything done in a timely fashion. We chose practically everything for the house and one example that stands out in my mind is the timing of the kitchen back splash installation. We wanted that finished before move in date and we were finalizing this two weeks before our scheduled move in date. We should have started that a month earlier than we did to ensure that it was finished in time. Peter was extremely helpful, ushering us through the process to obtain approval from the town’s Zoning Board.
