Owner, Alex Trivizas seamlessly dealt with all the necessary management agencies, the changing codes - and often entanglements - that go with New York City apartment renovations. Our issues were complicated; joint pre-war apartment plumbing and delicate gas line risers that affected the whole building. Green Conversions sailed through the predetermined timetable with efficiency and neatness. (Every day his crew organized their tools, vacuumed and made sure the space available to us was neat and manageable, as we lived here while under construction.) His construction manager, Wilson, showed up every morning, explained the day's work, checked for any issues that might come up and notified all parties, so there were no schedule interruptions. I particularly enjoyed researching for fixtures, etc., but wasn't sure what would technically go together. Alex gave my options to his specialist to select what that would work, so there was guaranteed orderliness. He also added a few gratis undertakings, just so the job would turn out better. Amazing! Our pre-war co-op has been beautifully upgraded and enhanced, and Alex’s work has added great value for decades to come. While it sounds like a simple task, the job actually entailed rewiring the entirety of our three-unit apartment (given building-wide electrical limitations) as well as redirecting a significant amount of plumbing work. Alex and Bob went above and beyond! Not only did they finish the task early (by over a week), but they uncovered a number of preexisting issues and fixed them along the way, without adding to/amending the contract or price. They were also exceptional communicators and kept us abreast of progress on a daily basis via photos and status texts. > Given that we have a newborn son, we were really concerned about displacement and cleanliness and our apartment looked like they had just hired a team of professional cleaners when they finished the task. > We have historically had very mixed (ie negative) experiences with contractors and would say that Alex and Bob have restored much of our faith and trust, and we could not recommend them more highly. When we undertook our renovation, we were weary of picking the wrong contractor, as we had heard many horror stories. Ultimately, after speaking with several references, my wife and I decided to use Alex for our renovation. We are very happy with the finished product and Alex and his team were great all along the way. Alex was intimately involved throughout our project. He and his team were always very respectful and earned high marks from our building manager. In addition, Alex was extremely detail oriented and transparent when it came to change orders. He always had good ideas regarding changes that made a big difference in terms of the final look of our apartment. Well-meaning friends and family warned me that it was bound to be painful, over-budget, delayed and frustrating no matter what. I am happy to report that none of this is true when it comes to Green Conversions Inc. From the get-go, from our very first conversation, this contractor proved exceptionally professional, thorough, attentive, proactive and reliable. Every piece of the work (regardless of his sub-contractors) was masterfully coordinated and completed on time, impeccably, and on budget. Whenever budget was exceeded it was entirely due to my own wish to add something I had not foreseen in the initial scope of work. In a very impressive and reassuring way, this contractor anticipated and flagged all decision points, choices I would have to make, things I ought to reflect on, and managed my time and expectations and budget accordingly. He also introduced me to an excellent architect and shepherded me through the complexe obtention of permits and all the tedious paperwork I wasn't familiar with. Having my contractor's support throughout this administrative process was at once reassuring and confidence-inspiring. His excellent teams were, from start to finish, on-time, tidy, considerate, professional and pleasant. They worked very hard through some very hot summer months in the city and the project was delivered on time, in the most serene conditions. The contractor himself was a joy to work with: always making me feel heard, understood and seen. always patient and on-the-ball and exceptionally responsive on email, phone and text 7 days a week. It was a pleasure to collaborate with someone so tuned-in to his client and her worries, and so willing to go the extra mile whenever technical challenges popped up on site. Green Conversions Inc became the envy of all my friends who'd experienced renovations and were just stunned when I described how smooth our project was. Many people I know end up firing or suing their contractor and I couldn't believe how energizing and fun it was to work with a contractor. Even my building's Superintend and neighbors loved him. I trust and recommend this contractor wholeheartedly.
