She just takes your phone number and gives you catalog with samples, having very annoyed look. Larry makes nice impression, but only in the beginning. Later he is rude and pushy. His employee has no idea how to take measurements for bay window and in effect we got shades covering frames not the glass. We had to wait two or three weeks for them to come, take the shades off and correct the sizes,. And they showed up with upset faces and no one said sorry. We are waiting already over 11 weeks with no shades. Don't go there. The problem is its kind of long & narrow and feel like its an awkward space to decorate/design for (see photo), especially since we will have our king size bed in there. The space is 18 feet 6 inches long and 10 feet 6 inches wide (the length is from the window wall to the chimney - we plan to build a walk-in-ish closet on the other side of the chimney). Any ideas on how to work with a long and narrow bedroom, with a big ol' king size bed, and still feel comfortable and spacious? A: A nice architectural feature is the centered windows below the arched ceiling, a very good spot for your kingsized bed. The remaining space will be tight, therefore I recommend floating shelves, wall mounted side lamps on either side of the bed, using the chimney as a decorative feature and have a skilled carpenter build around it for storage. TV can be wall mounted with an arm that extends and rotates. **Q: advice on color of draperies I should do...** *(in Design Dilemma)* I need to choose the color of drapes for the two windows on each side of tulip picture (my daughter's art). I'm hanging them from crown molding to floor length with extra fullness. I like the faux silk look and thinking of a medium taupe. Want very elegant look and using pinch pleat. Attached a few pictures to show space. Kitchen, dining room and living room in same space. Any other colors I should consider? A: I would definitely pull the blue from the tulip. Blue is considered a soothing hue, and would nicely balance the artwork. **Q: Sectional or sofa** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi! We are trying to furnish our new house and have no living room furniture right now. We are trying to decide between a sectional and sofa. Our living room will get mixed use- we will be entertaining in that space and using it as our family space for my too kids. I am hoping the kids will spend most of their time in their play room though. The sectional we are considering is the cu 2 sectional by bassett- http://www.bassettfurniture.com/U-Shaped-Sectional-MDX2100-MDY2120-MDS-1-MDZ30908.asp We do not have a sofa in mind but would like a quality sofa like Bernhardt etc. Also, I would really like your opinion on weather a sectional is a good choice for our floor plan which is attached below. Would it look too big? I would like to keep the room somewhat semi formal instead of completely casual. Thanks a lot A: Sectional sofas give you the most seating. Excellent in family rooms. I would run it along your two solid walls, and complement it with two floating occasional chairs.
