## Community Q&A

**Q: Hardwood floor - Brackish Stain?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello, I'm having trouble deciding the stain for our Hardwood floor. Out of all the options provided by our builder, we liked Brackish Stain (on white oak) but I'm not able to find any house picture online showing this stain. Has anyone used Brackish Stain on Hardwood floor? If yes, could you please upload a few pics. Attached is the image of the stain our builder is providing. Thanks.

A: Brackish is not a stain made to be used for solid handscraped floors, it's for cabinets. Industry standard stain colors are manufactured by " Duraseal" . When floors are installed raw, sanded, hand-scraped & coated with poly-urethane real professionals use Duraseal.
. Brackish is only used on pre-finished engineered floors. It sounds like your builder is either not familiar with industry standard flooring practices or is planning on installing using an engineered floor.
If you would like a darker stain color I recommend Duraseal Ebony, dark walnut or Jacobean . Duraseal also offers many mixed formulas to achieve the desired color.
