> We own an historic Queen Anne style home in Bethesda, Md. Its most important feature is its turret. When we added a new garage, dining room and master bedroom suite, we told Lindsay we wanted the three-story addition to look 120 years old on the day it was built. She came up with the perfect roof lines that seamlessly married the new to the old. None of our new neighbors can believe the front section of our house hasn't always been there.

> We recently provided Structural Engineering Design to Lindsay for a single family home renovation. She delivers to her clients good looking, sound solutions and we enjoy collaborating with her.

> Lindsay is dedicated to ensure her client’s projects are beautiful, comfortable and environmentally responsible. Our team worked successfully with her to achieve these goals.

> Lindsay and I recently worked on our first project together in New York City, my part being that of custom wood furniture. From the onset Lindsay was hands on and her level of detail was excellent. One of the finishes requested was a toned white lacquer on rift cut white oak. Lindsay actually came to our shop and we spent a few hours mixing and spraying paint together to get the perfect color. How very impressive to have an architect show that level of commitment not just to me but also to the project and her client. A happy client makes for a happy architect makes for a happy sub.
>
> At the conclusion of the project and after we had installed our furniture, what became abundantly clear was that Lindsay’s hands on approach didn’t stop with the millwork. From polished concrete to glass to furniture to furnishings to paint, tile, stone and fixtures all worked together to create a seamless holistic environment. I would highly recommend Lindsay Architecture Studio for your next project.

> Lindsay, based US office, designed a simple and elegant south-facing addition for my elderly parent’s home just outside Toronto, Canada. The addition gave my parents a large sunny sitting room facing the garden that they desperately needed. The project was delivered on time and within budget. The totally fantastic thing was that Lindsay’s drawings and specifications were so well done that all she needed to do during construction was coordinate with the home builder and general contractor via fax and phone. I cannot recommend her highly enough for both her design skills and her ability to deliver the actual building!

> Hi, I worked in meny different projects in NYC with Lindsay Arquitecture and she was always very professional, she really knows the business and I will recommend her and her business 100%.

**★★★★★ — Wendy Riches, Nov. 2016**

> I loved the location of my one bedroom pied-a-terre on Manhattan’s Upper West Side (and my building) but it felt tiny, and as if everything I had was squashed in. Reluctantly, I was thinking of moving until a friend recommended I consult Lindsay to remodel the living area for me. Lindsay created a new open-plan vision which immediately transformed the look and feel from cramped and crowded to spacious and practical. She took out a wall around the kitchen, reversed the layout of the living area to make it more comfortable, and succeeded in concealing the kitchen, my home office and all my home entertainment in beautiful built-in cabinetry that give it a very luxurious feel.. She recommended bleaching the floor and using more luminous paint on the walls and ceiling to complete the lovely new feeling of light and space.
> Net net, I was so delighted with what Lindsay had done that I asked her to return the following year to remodel the bedroom, and full and half bathroom areas. Again, I wanted a more spacious feel. In particular, I wanted a walk-in clothes closet instead of a bulky wardrobe, and a comfortable master bathroom instead of a convoluted lay-out.. Lindsay did a brilliant job of replanning everything. She conjured up more space by stealing a vital inch here and another one there through removing walls separating closets, re-proportioning the bedroom and rearranging both bathrooms.
> The result was dramatic - a fabulous master bedroom suite, with a spacious, elegant bathroom and my longed-for walk-in closet!
> Lindsay was the nicest person to work with - she took time to understand my life-style and my taste to make sure what she recommended would be right for me. And it certainly is! I could not be happier with my “new” apartment. Any thoughts I had about moving have been completely banished (although I have the satisfaction of knowing that Lindsay’s renovation has greatly enhanced the value of my home, should I ever want to sell.)

**★★★★ — Stephen Lew, Nov. 2016**

> Lindsay is great. When we consult together she is smart and listens to the clients needs before she designs. Her work is efficient and exceeds expectations.

**★★★★★ — Charles Levy, Nov. 2016**

> Getting my house ready to sell this summer. Lindsay came over and gave me quite a few very valuable suggestions for changes that would be effective , simple and cost effective and would help sell the house. She is kind, and very very smart.
>
> Since I am downsizing, Lindsay showed me very cool small house designs that are so high tech, I can't really describe them here. Her range of expertise is amazing. I am still figuring things out but when I do, Lindsay will be on my team.

**★★★★★ — Jim Bailey, Nov. 2016**

> With 4 active boys and both parents professionally engaged, we not only trusted Lindsay’s design skills, we knew we could rely upon her to manage the project for us.
> Our house was built in the 1870’s by the prominent architectural firm Ware and van Brunt. Its Late Victorian architecture is prized by the City of Cambridge because the architect also designed Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre. Outside, we needed exacting exterior restoration to rediscover and match the historic beauty of our home. Inside, we requested central air conditioning, places for our boys to play video games and work-out and a solution for our large damp basement.
> For the exterior work, Lindsay enlisted the Cambridge Historic Commission early-on, mining its records, harnessing its enthusiasm and ultimately winning a restoration award. Lindsay attended to the details, finding the quarry in Vermont where our original slate roof came from, discovering original paint colors beneath subsequent layers of paint and ensuring replacement wood trim and copper downspouts were appropriate.
> Inside, while updating our home, Lindsay made it more comfortable with elegant spaces that have added enormous value. We never expected the basement to yield enchanting rooms for our family and guests, but her solution to our damp basement was also key to gaining ceiling height for our tall boys (while installing French drains under the old floor, she explained that with minimal additional expense, we could dig deeper for more head room). Lindsay maintained the integrity of our interiors, while making our house cool in summer and with more balanced heating in winter. She concealed ductwork up the back staircase and across ceiling structures to avoid lowering ceilings, and she recommended new equipment for the cast iron radiators so they are now controlled by thermostats.
> My work requires a great deal of international travel and Lindsay made it easy for me stay involved and in control. She presented her design solutions efficiently (often via email while I was away) and her reporting on the overall budget and construction schedule enabled me to manage the project effectively, in spite of our busy work and family lives.

**★★★★★ — Stacey Weaver, Oct. 2016**

> I have known Lindsay and her work for almost 25 years. I was so impressed by her creativity, ability to understand what we wanted and attention to detail that I hired her to design a separate building on our property to serve as garage, workshop, attic and guest suite. Our little town by the sea has many restrictions, and she was able to work within them to come up with a structure that is eminently useful and admired for its appearance and comfort by our neighbors and visiting friends.
> Lindsay's design solutions are elegantly simple, practical and always attractive, whether they be a renovated antique townhouse, a new mansion, an office interior or a small building like ours. I would happily recommend her to anyone.

**★★★★★ — Paul Brooke, Oct. 2016**

> Lindsay and I had collaborated on residential work and I therefore trusted Lindsay with my ideas to create a strong fresh image for my early stage company offices. I shared with Lindsay, large modern art banners that advertised art auctions in Manhattan, explaining I wanted a bold innovative feel without spending too much.
>
> I hoped we could use the canvas banners and I showed Lindsay our new offices to see how they might fit. She immediately understood both my aesthetic and marketing goals, particularly the need for my early stage investment company’s image to appeal to clients who are savvy financial investors. She agreed the enormous canvasses banners would be a success and determined how to cut them to fit important office walls with a system to mount them on frames to be easily delivered into the midtown Manhattan office building. The frames were assembled and hung in a few hours and the new offices immediately appeared established and complete. Though the artwork looks powerful and impressive, it belies the extremely modest price.

**Comment from Lindsay Architecture Studio, P.C.:**

> I have added two more photos from Paul's office to illustrate the canvases.

A compliment to life in Manhattan, the cottage provides the Architect with ongoing design inspira…

## Community Q&A

**Q: Love the paint colors, what are they?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the aqua & white, please let me know what they are. Thank you!

A: Dear Djandri; The color is Benjamin Moore \# 666 "At Sea" - but you might also want to try \# 764 "Crystal Springs" colors are very dependent on what is outside your window! If yu like the color but it is too strong then try adding white paint to the mix. Good luck and best regards, Lindsay
