## About

### Houzz Badges

- Houzz Influencer

Marcus Mohon Interiors specializes in interiors that share graceful elegance and distinct geometry. But most importantly, the work is warmly approachable, inviting people in to live their lives, fully express who they are, and celebrate the love they share. With projects coast to coast, Marcus Mohon Interiors’ Austin location watches the South tumble into the Southwest. The Texas perspective helps combine the urban and the rural, the elegant and the humble, the refined and the rough-hewned, affording the opportunity to impose beautiful comfort on genuine haciendas, urban high-rise apartments, and coastal cabins. Most of all, Marcus Mohon Interiors tries to impart joy — and sometimes that happens with a beautiful pillow or an elegant drape.

## Selected projects

  - Description: Have you ever wanted to lighten your load? That desire was the driving force in decorating a grand English manor in South Texas. The client wanted to keep the home from tilting to the heavy side, so we began by using lighter than expected stains and a stone flooring with a fog-like color. The furnishings are a gathering of neutrals interwoven with a thread of blue through the home. This “lighter side” approach left the home feeling easy in attitude and youthful in spirit.
- [On the Waterfront](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/on-the-waterfront-pj-vj~773604)
  - Location: Not specified

  - Description: Imagine the meeting of a fishing cabin and a warehouse on an urban wharf. What do you get? For a Houston couple, it meant a perfectly suited retreat on Galveston Island. The house was special even in the beginning and the magic only increased through design and construction as we chose to leave the interior structure exposed and finished it as if it had been in the salt air for decades. We softened that effect with a muted pallet of creams, gray taupes, and soft blue greens combined with floors…
- [Above and Beyond](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/above-and-beyond-pj-vj~773615)
  - Location: Not specified

  - Description: What makes your heart beat faster? It’s one of the first questions Marcus asks every client. For two former oil industry executives, the answer was realized in a curated union of French modernism meets contemporary design. In the midst of remodeling a historic home in a gated Houston neighborhood, the couple opted for a move skyward to a light-filled perch in one of the city’s newer high-rise buildings. “We went from a massive historic project to a glass box,” says Mohon. “Our first challenge wa…
- [Southern Living Idea House](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/southern-living-idea-house-pj-vj~773637)
  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 16
  - Description: Inspired by Mediterranean villas, the Idea House sits humbly a short way down an inlet of Texas’ Lake LBJ. It’s location at the water’s edge makes you wonder if it wants to jump in for a dip. And that nearness to the water is like a siren song, drawing out those who dwell there. We used a cool pallet of sandy neutrals and watery blue-greens on the inside to provide relief from the heat. The result is a sense of oneness with the massive lake that lies just beyond.
- [By the Sea](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/by-the-sea-pj-vj~773657)
  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 15
  - Description: If interior design and architecture were siblings, they’d be rivals, always vying for the most attention, making “look at me!” leaps with an eye-catching pillow or a dramatic vaulted ceiling. But step inside this Alys Beach, Florida house and right away you know these relations get along.
