The roots of Terra Landscape and Design began in 1975 when four brothers needed money to take out girls in high school. Mike, Ron, Kevin and Russell started the Allan Brothers Four Seasons, a raggedy lawn-maintenance business with the motto, “You grow it, we mow it.” It wasn’t a business, it was a family—and bolstered by friends and Mike's good looks, it soon grew into a self-sustainable landscaping company with 2 full crews of friends and a few real employees. There were many adventures over the years. Some of the brothers went to college, some of them didn’t go to college—and they all got married to good wives who one-by-one convinced three of them to get out of the landscaping business. We hired them to replace our brick patio that was being pushed up by tree roots. We wanted to save the tree, so opted for pea gravel instead of removing the tree and replacing the bricks with another hardscape. In addition, they removed the bricks on the steps down to the pea gravel and planter tops and replaced them with pavers. They did a great job and the result is beautiful. I was impressed with all the steps they took to prep the area before putting the pea gravel down. I feel sure that this will hold up over time due to that. The workers were very professional, showed up on time every day, and completed the work on schedule. We worked with Jared from start (getting a quote and design) and all the way through the project. He was always prompt in responding to my questions/concerns via email. He let me know ahead of time if there was any interruption in work (we had a couple of rain days) or anything else I needed to be aware of.
