> Glen has been a marvel. Patient, informative, prompt, kind, creative and most importantly, fun and easy to work with. I have looked forward to remodeling my home for years, but dreaded the process. He has made it enjoyable, do-able and better than I could have imagined. He has really focused on the usability of the space as well as the aesthetic. Also, he works with some great people, who are creative, down-to-earth and also easy to work with. It's remarkable to think that we started the process in August 2014, I think, and at six months, I have complete plans and general contractor beginning bids. It would have been even faster, but for my own time constraints. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Scale on staghorn** *(in Moss, Ferns & Cryptogams)*

Been hand-picking the scales from this plant for a year. The scale was introduced in my plant room on a plant that stupidly I didn't quarantine before I added it to my collection. This is a 10-yr old plant and a favorite. I used the alcohol spray on it when I first found the scale and the plant didn't like that at all. Lost some fronts. Unfortunately the crawlers have moved from the stag to other plants and I have lost some as well. So as much as I hate to do it, I will use Orthene systemically on everything. I need to put an end to this scale. My question is can I use Orthene on the stag? The plan would be next time i soak it to mix the orthene in the water. Appreciate any help.

A: Bea, what did you end up using? I also didn't quarantine and now have a problem with fern scale on my staghorn collection. I've heard Orthene, Azosol (Neem concentrate), and insecticidal soap. And several others. I'd love to know what worked for you!
