> I could not have had a better experience working with Willis Baker Design!  I was on the fence about hiring a designer in the first place, but decided to go for it since I just needed someone to come in and pull it all together.  My hesitation was that I was afraid that I would be pressured to spend more, or have the project rushed.  I am one of those people who like to mull over the options and make sure I am choosing the right thing.  Liz was exactly what I needed.  She helped me narrow down the theme and gave me a few choices for each piece that I was looking for.  At that point I could take my time and purchase as budget permitted but I had that cohesive plan.  When you see the overall design I couldn't wait to get piece by piece!  I also liked how Liz is able to incorporate high end touches by cross shopping and throwing in some more budget friendly pieces to help me achieve the look I wanted.

**Q: Desk and cabinets** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where can the desk as well as cabinets underneath the desk be purchased from?

A: Hi Kathy, I had these custom built for my client. I drew out a rough plan and the cabinet maker produced a CAD drawing to confirm and then built them. I found the pulls at a local cabinet hardware showroom and I specified where to place them on the doors and drawers. If you go this route, your local cabinetry professional can give you a quote. Please let me know if you need any more assistance!

**Q: Floating Shelves** *(in Photo Questions)*

Were the floating shelves custom made?

A: Yes, they were custom-made with walnut and installed by a local woodworking company. They're very sturdy!

**Q: Please help with subway backsplash  size and color** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Do you think 3by 12 is too big for my kitchen? Does the white color subway tile make the cabinets look dingy? My cabinets is off white. Thank you.

A: Sometimes you start with an idea, then you have to adjust according to where the look is leading. And, there's no problem with that! There are so many good options and it seems like you can't go wrong with the great work you've done so far!

**Q: Color vanity for a teen bathroom** *(in Home Decorating)*

help.  Im picking vanity for my 18year old daughter's bathroom.
The floor tile is dark gray, and the 1 wall (in the shower) is white with very light beige.
White on other walls.  


But what color for the Vanity ?
Can only buy 24" vanity. 
Choices:  white, walnut/wood, or gray?

A: Wood will definitely add warmth to the room :)
I used a pale blue and a cream color in the small bathrooms in my Grayhawk project. If the vanity you are purchasing comes unfinished where you can paint it, using a pale color can always add a fun, personal touch to the space!

**Q: Exterior paint color and window selection** *(in Design Dilemma)*

This is our new house that is undergoing a total renovation. We don’t plan to make too many changes to the exterior, but we do intend to paint the wood. Should we paint the brick?  What color?
Also, we intend to refurbish and keep the original wood windows.  The two windows on the protruding section of the home need to be replaced. Should we make them match the others?  Is it weird that their design doesn’t match the design of the other windows?

A: You have the perfect opportunity to celebrate your brick! I would go for black or charcoal paint, keeping the brick natural. You could do the trim in the same black/charcoal or refinish to a medium wood stain to accent it or even go with white. You could use a matching wood door or paint your door a bright orange or yellow for a nice pop of color! There's a show called "Boise Boys" who do great work that shows the style I'm talking about.
