In the online picture, it looks light grey? A: It is dark blue... not "Navy", more of a muted dark denim. it looks great, though **Q: Single guys can sort-of decorate too!** *(in Design Dilemma)* I'm a single guy, and don't have a ton of people to give me decorating advice...so here I am! I have had quite the learning experience the past year or so decorating my new house. Who knew this could be so much fun! I ordered some flat roman shades for my bedroom windows (from The Shade Store). I really like the flat style becuase I want them to be "fairly" minimalist, have clean lines, and not block the view of the water I have from my bedroom. I ordered one shade to start, as a test piece, in white. Now that it's up, I feel that it is a bit bland, and I'm wondering if I should go with a color, perhaps a gray or something. The walls are a lightish grey with a tinge of blue and brown (Benjamin Moore - Revere Pewter). But then I think abotu it again, and think, maybe the white is nice a clean looking. What to do...what to do... Any help or suggestions would be great! Thanks! A: I would match it with that black/navy blue (can't tell from the picture) throw on the end of your bed. It would tie it all together and add a little bit of contrast to complement your great view. **Q: How to unify front of asymmetric house** *(in Design Dilemma)* I've just purchased my first home, and the one thing that I had to look past and tell myself I could fix is the lack of curb appeal due to the asymmetry of the front of the house. There are 2 different colored and styles of siding with no separation between them and none of the windows/doors are symmetrical. I need a way to rebalance the front of the house. A couple possibilities would be to add larger windows to help with the odd wall of siding, add a small deck or porch to the left side so that it doesn't feel like it needs to be symmetrical, or add some type off feature that distinctly separates the two floors so they are free to be different. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks! A: This house is screaming for a front porch. I would add a porch with a low sloped roof, maybe 4/12. Also, add and enlarge those second story windows! If you add a porch you can make the second story symmetrical and your problem will be solved. That is quite an expense, though. **Q: Need help with wall colors** *(in Design Dilemma)* We're remodeling a bay house near the gulf. We want to use Cali Bamboo Antique Java Fossilized Wide Plank flooring with french pattern tile in baths and Geriba Gold ganite in kitchen. The ceiling are 8 ft so I know this dark flooring will need lighter walls but what colors? My husband wants something that reminds you of the beach....sea green? Thank you for advice.
