A: That is just a natural oil with some darkening done naturally by the sun.

what would the cost of a structure like this be based on a it being 16' wide by 24' long with a scissor truss design not including raising the structure? and without the shingles on the roof.

A: Would this be for Las Vegas?  If so, I would recommend using dried timbers.  Dried timbers cost more, but are more stable.  Would you still want it attached to the house, or do you want it standing alone?  We can work up an estimate and email it to you.

What kind of software do you use to engineer all of this?

A: We don't do any engineering in house, but we do design most of our joinery and connections.  We use Cadwork for our modeling.  What are you using?
