### Reviews

**★★ — Robert, March 2024**

> Overall very nice and beautiful products, but very poor customer service. Our rep made multiple errors in design and measurement. Wrong cabinets were delivered, knobs not included, and promised additions took multiple customer follow-ups. Multiple members of the team made us feel like we were either an afterthought or that they were just to busy to care. Our rep was also very hard to reach, very hard to communicate with, and was late to multiple appointments.
> Price compared to others is quite high
> We expected so much more and if not for our own initiative, project would have been even further delayed. We should say that once we escalated problems, management was able to help, but it was a lot of effort.
> I would not recommend this group

> Metro Review
>
> If you’re looking for an ongoing source of angst, anxiety, and disappointment, look no further than Metropolitan Cabinets. But seriously, I would recommend looking somewhere else for your cabinet and countertop needs. I have an older home that I was renovating, and heard rave reviews of Metropolitan. I met with one of their consultants, their quality looked good and prices seem reasonable. This is the best part of Metropolitan Cabinets: attractive cabinets at a reasonable price.
>
> Too good to be true? It is.
>
> Our consultant measured our kitchen and baths. I had a contractor do the installation a few months after the order. The original intent was to put a peekaboo window between the kitchen and foyer. The contractor told me he wanted to put up the cabinets first before cutting the peekaboo window out. The designs we received showed a 4 foot cutout; my contractor stated there wasn’t enough wall space for a 4’ cutout, only a 32” cutout. He also had to cut off part of a corner cabinet to make the cabinets fit. Lastly, we received one cabinet of the incorrect size, and another cabinet that was 2” short for the space (why not maximize cabinet size and install an 18” instead of a 16”). I mentioned this to the sales consultant (we got a new one because our original sales consultant left the company). We had to wait the full 2 weeks for a replacement cabinet for the their error , and had to pay for a new 18” cabinet because the 16” was on the original order.
>
> Not the end of the world. $500, and an extra 2 weeks. Granite template guy comes on a Friday. His first question is if i got a granite backsplash. I did. He said he didn’t see it on the order. I luckily had my original order saved on my phone and showed it to him. Then he starts doing measurements. He notices the cabinet to the left of the stove is 3/4” behind the cabinets to the right of the stove. His recommendation is to cut off the back of the cabinets to the right of the stove, cut out 3/4”, and replace the back of the cabinet. I ask if there’s an easier way. He says yes, just have the countertop be an extra 3/4” extend of the countertop. I say okay.
>
> Alright, no biggie. An extra 3/4” overlay over the cabinet to the left of the stove. It’s Monday morning after the template. I get a phone call and email from their VP in granite saying they “lost” my granite. And “this has never happened before”. And “it’s likely things got messed up when our previous consultant left the company”. Oh, okay, that’s disappointing.
>
> It’s unfortunate to have such an awful experience with such a reputable company. Definitely won’t be returning here for future kitchen and bath renovations.

**Comment from Metropolitan Cabinets & Countertops:**

> Evan, we were surprised to receive this negative review since you did not have cabinetry complaints in real time. Your project had changes made on-site that did not reflect the original plan, and so we were able to get you a replacement cabinet for the changes that you made on-site. You were willing to pay for the new cabinet, and did not ask for a free one, since it was due changes made on-site.
>
> You mention of the issue of your cabinets not being the same depth on either side of the stove. This is not a design flaw or a product flaw. Many walls are not straight, and so installers are supposed to make sure cabinets are installed with the same depth - and this happens on site. Cabinets are made a standard depth, and it is up to the installer to make sure all the cabinets are aligned.
>
> With regards to the stone getting lost, we are truly sorry about the inconvenience. No company is perfect, but we always try to make good on our mistakes. We were able to locate an extremely similar stone replacement for you, and we are sorry that it was not satisfactory. We felt we did everything we could to make the situation right.
>
> We hope you enjoy your new space.

> If I could give 0 stars, I WOULD! Worst experience ever!! Mora Veo was the consultant that assisted us. We informed her from the beginning we needed our order asap. She continuously lost information, would use her shift availably or daughter as an excuse for why she wasn't available, horrible communication skills, didn't inform us she had lost information that she now had being waiting on, extremely unreliable. When I asked why order hadn't been placed yet she told her boss I yelled at her & then canceled our order with the ok of manager, without hearing us out. They ignored us after & took their time to refund us, I had to get my bank involved to retrieve my deposit. I was way to shocked of there lack of unprofessionalism & insensitivity. I found Mora to be super rude & inconsiderate. A lot of other people have also complained about Mora in reviews, wish I had taken the time to read it. There are plenty of other great nearby store with more variety and better reputation.

**Comment from Metropolitan Cabinets & Countertops:**

> We have read your review and do not agree with the statements made regarding Mora, the project details and your interpretation of the events. Due to the large lack of response on your part with unanswered emails and phone calls not returned, the project was not able to move as quickly as initially discussed.
>
> Your unwillingness to take our design advice on what would work and fit in your space did not sit well with us through the design process, as we strive to only deliver products and designs that will definitely work, not “maybe” work. Mora has only 1 other customer review, a positive one, and she has a wonderful reputation amongst her clients and colleagues. We feel very fortunate to have her as a part of the Metropolitan team.
>
> Mora did report that you called her and that you verbally mistreated her over the phone and at that time our management decided to cancel the order.
>
> We take great pride in delivering quality products, design and customer service to our clients, but ultimately the client has to trust us in order for the relationship to work. We wish you luck with your kitchen project.

**★ — R. K., Oct. 2018**

> We ordered a Kemper Kitchen from Metropolitan. This is the worst Kitchen company. Compared to other places that we designed the same Kitchen this was one of the most expensive but since they promised a 4 weeks turn around for semi-custom all wood cabinets we went with them. It is almost 6 months now and they have not yet resolved the issues. The issues included: warped pantry door, misplaced drawers, doors and racks that do not open or close well, all the doors are random sizes and some of the doors do not even open without hitting the microwave (there is already damage to the door!), unfinshed areas where the glass was cut and placed, etc. In some areas the distance between the two cabinets is less than 4 mm which does not allow the door to open. Susan the sales person from Kemper in response to the random sizes of the doors and drawers says "people ususally do not care how their kitchen looks like". And then she claims "average people in their life time only design 1 and 1/2 kitchens so they don't know better". Well we know better and we do care and you should not be in a business that you don't care about the quality of the work that you provide. And then Jim, the person Kemper sends to correct issues! He does not respect the customers time, he started a fight with my contractor that I almost called the police on him. While Ron the designer tried to work with Kemper and get the problems resolved, he too kept saying "I am just the middle man". Jim claimed that the contractor and the designer were wrong for not putting spacer in between every cabinet! Ron correctly says that a spacer in between all cabinets will provide ugly seams and lines everywhere. Ron should not be selling a product that is so full of problems. Instead of 4 weeks we are now almost 6 month into this with no resolution about the major issues with this kitchen. Will be contacting attorney general's office and BBB as well as the credit card company. The problem is that with this kitchen if we want to redo it now the quartz and all the appliances are in place and it will cost double the cost of the kitchen itself to get another kitchen put in. Please think twice and do not go to Metropolitan and do not get a Kemper Kitchen from any other dealer. I hope I can add photos to this to show you how bad they are with their product.

> We recently finished complete kitchen renovation and we worked with Vanessa Dunaway for our cabinets and design. She is a friendly and insightful professional, who was prompt to reply to our numerous questions and concerns. Vanessa was very attentive and flexible to changes and preferences. She took notes of everything we said and offered valuable recommendations. It is pleasant and easy to work with her. As a result of our friendly cooperation, now we have a kitchen that we absolutely love.

**★★★★ — Susan Zellmann-Rohrer, Aug. 2018**

> Provided design, cabinetry and stonework as well as the installation for a mid-century kitchen renovation this year in Boston suburb.

**★★★★★ — Aimee S, July 2018**

> Ana is amazing to work with!! She understood what we wanted to do and offered us some great options for our cabinets and countertops which we hadn't thought of. She was super responsive when we needed to contact her or ask her questions about our job. Ana is extremely knowledgeable about the products and we would highly recommend her if you are looking for someone with expertise to help configure your dream kitchen.

**Comment from Metropolitan Cabinets & Countertops:**

> Thank you so much Aimee! We're so glad you had a great experience - Ana is the best! Enjoy your new kitchen!

**★★★★★ — Kim Thompson, July 2018**

> My recent Kitchen Renovation would not have been possible without the help of Tracey Street and Metropolitan Cabinets. From start to finish Tracey was always available with advise, answers and suggestions. I definitely knew what I did not want and Tracey was able to take from that and design my dream kitchen. From cabinet to hardware selection, stone choices and delivery (on the day of a major snow storm in the North East) Tracey and Met Cabinets delivered! It's been three months since the kitchen was completed and I still can't believe it is mine.

**Comment from Metropolitan Cabinets & Countertops:**

> Kim thank you so much for the great review! We're so happy you had a great experience with us and Tracey. Enjoy your new kitchen!!

**★★★★★ — Pamela Beaudet, July 2018**

> I had a great experience with Metropolitan. I only needed counter tops because my husband is building the cabinets. We had the difficult task of trying to match our existing granite, which is no longer available. After going to several of their stone distributers, we came to the conclusion that finding a contrasting counter was the way to go. Thank you to Bridget for driving that point home because I was resistant! I worked with Will, Bridget, and Ian and all were easy to work with. Counters were installed today and we're thrilled!

**Comment from Metropolitan Cabinets & Countertops:**

> Thank you for the great review Pamela! We're so happy your experience was great. Enjoy your new counters!

**★★★★★ — Adrienne MacCarthy, June 2018**

> We were undertaking a DIY kitchen makeover hoping to add granite counter tops as the newest element. After visiting several granite stores, Metropolitan was the only place that welcomed and guided us through the process. Bridget responded to my initial email even moments before closing for the day! Which allowed us to hit the road running to find our granite. Once our piece was selected, Bridget and the rest of the Metropolitan team walked us thru the rest of the process. We still have work to do but thought you might like to see the before and after. Also, shout out to Houzz where we found our inspiration including paint color and granite name Colonial Cream, Thanks!

**Comment from Metropolitan Cabinets & Countertops:**

> Your project looks so beautiful! Thank you so much for the kind words and for sharing your story. We are so lucky to have Bridget and the whole stone team!

**★★★★★ — Irida, May 2018**

> Metropolitan was great to work with to find the right stone for our fireplace. They provided suggestions, followed through and executed without a hitch. We look forward to working with such professionals again.

**Comment from Metropolitan Cabinets & Countertops:**

> Thank you so much for your partnership! Enjoy your new stone and we look forward to your next project, too!

**★★★★★ — Stanton Schwartz Design Group, Sept. 2017**

> In every way possible, Metropolitan has been a pleasure to work with. They have helped us design countless kitchens, mudrooms, vanities and fireplace shelving. Their entire team is excellent at what they do, kind to work with and some of the best problem solvers out there. Easy to work with and quick to deliver, they make it all look easy. Even after install, their customer service is top notch. It will clearly be a long relationship. We love them

**Comment from Metropolitan Cabinets & Countertops:**

> Thank you so much for the kind words! We are our best when we work with great partners, and your firm has been so fantastic to work with on each project. We look forward to many more beautiful and fun projects to come!
