> We've been living with our Great Northern Cabinetry now for over two years! We were happy with the end result so we decided to add a new large vanity in our downstairs powder room/laundry. Great Northern has held up quite well. In fact, we noticed the lower quality of cabinets in a friends expensive new home nearby. We bought all white but the trend now seems to be gray or gray/white or gray/black. Whatever your choice, you can rest assured that our family here in NH is quite happy with Great Northern Cabinetry and we continue to recommend them to several homes being redone in our neighborhood. As I look across the street, there are now 7 homes in our development (built back in the 80s) that have now remodeled with Great Northern. We all used the same contractor too so it's been a real win for GNC. We also like the particular shade of white they use (doesn't look like a bathtub white, but also not ivory either) The paint has a strong finish and the quality still shows now two years later. Our contractor recommended the middle quality level as the shelves have a nice covering. They don't show the lines from cans or stains associated with raw wood like the top level would. That has made a big difference over time! The shelves fit well, the doors are tight and close perfectly. You will not be disappointed with Great Northern.

> Awful customer service. I purchased an entire large house of these cabinets and the first sign of a defect and they are rude don’t answer the phone and provide ZERO customer service. The cabinet under one of my kitchen sinks has only the beading deteriorating NOTHING ELSE yet they claims its water damage?? Yet the doors and above the beading between the sink are FINE?? Now I’m trying all morning to reach their office and no one answers the phone! My rep is so slow he hasn’t fixed this yet and it’s been almost A YEAR. This is an awful company.

> I HAVE HAD MY GREAT NOTHERN CABINETRY KITCHEN CABINETS FOR 3 YEARS. I ABSOLUTELY STILL LOVE THEM!! THE COLOR AND PATTERN IN THE WOOD IS WONDERFUL. THE DOOR/DRAWER STYLE PERFECT. THE PULL OUTS FOR THE CABINETS WONDERFUL. THE CORNER DRAWERS ARE THE BEST THING EVER! EVERYONE I SHOW THEM TO, LOVE THEM AND WANT THEM. MANY PEOPLE NEVER KNEW THEY EXISTED AND THEY ARE THE GREATEST THING EVER. I ALSO HAVE LARGE DRAWERS FOR MY POTS AND PANS, SMALL DRAWERS FOR MY SPICES, ETC., AND THE DRAWERS ARE STILL LIKE NEW. ZERO PROBLEMS AND LOOK AMAZING. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!

> Great Northern was recommended by the kitchen-design professional hired to redesign our kitchen. The cabinets include top-quality materials inside and outside, and the workmanship is excellent. The cabinets have been in daily use for 4 years and we've have no issues whatsoever.

> I hate to leave bad reviews for a private company, but Great Northern Cabinetry really botched our cabinet and then completely ignored us when we reached out to communicate our concerns.
>
> I'll start with the workmanship. Through our architect, we contracted GNCI to build us a custom 20" deep cabinet with six drawers. When it arrived, we were shocked that the drawers were only 15" deep, with several inches of empty dead space between the back of the drawers and the back of the cabinet. It was a terrible waste of space, especially given how small our kitchen is and how hard we'd worked to optimize every inch. Moreover, to fit the 15" drawers into the larger space, the shop mounted the drawer slides in way that was rickety and unlikely to last. Perhaps as a result of this, the drawer fronts were also misaligned in all three direction (up/down, side-to-side, back to front).
>
> I looked back at GNCI's shop drawings, and they gave no indication that the drawers would be so much smaller than the inside dimension of the cabinet. Through my architect, I subsequently learned that GNCI uses presized drawers, and that we would have been able to get a full-depth 18" drawers had we made the cabinet 20.5"—a mere 0.5” bigger. It boggles the mind that GNCI did not inform us of this before starting the job--or at least clearly indicate in the shop drawing how compromised the drawer sizes and mounting would be under the 20" configuration.
>
> But worse than the actual workmanship was the way the company completely ignored me. I wrote the two presidents of the company four emails clearly outlining the issues, and I followed up with four voicemails. To this they responded with perfect, contemptuous silence. Nothing. No email. No call. No apology. No acknowledgement of my dissatisfaction. No indication that they would look into the matter or refer it to another employee. Nothing. Eight messages, and not a single response to at least say, we hear you. I've never, ever felt such utter disdain from a company.
>
> My architect was ultimately able to connect with one of the company's reps, who came out to look at the cabinet. The rep stonewalled and deflected and refused to recognize that anything was wrong with the cabinet. He nevertheless took my concern back to GNCI, and subsequently informed my architect that GNCI would be willing to send me bigger drawers, but it would be on me to "hack" the rails and install drawers that were not suitable to their rails. This was a non-solution I had to refuse. After paying $3000+ for a single custom cabinet, it shouldn't be on me to hack a solution.
>
> I like to support companies that manufacture in the US. It's terrible that with GNCI, it meant having to accept bad workmanship and scornful service.

> As a dealer for Great Northern Cabinetry I can highly recommend their products. The craftsmanship of construction and quality of their finishes are remarkable, all of my clients are very happy with this cabinetry company.

**★★★★★ — Dream Kitchens, Nov. 2013**

> We have been a dealer for Great Northern Cabinetry for about 4 years now and we love it. The finish is beautiful and they have great pricing on things such as pigmented stain and inset cabinetry. They are a great company to work with!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Stain color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi there! I'm in the process of designing a new kitchen with GNC, Inc cabinets and was wondering what stain color was used for these cabinets. We are going with Rustic Alder, which I believe is what wood species is used here. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

A: The stain color is Cobblestone on rustic hickory. Cobblestone is a gray-toned stain however the gray color is not reflected quite as much in the photo due to the lighting that that was present.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the island?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would like to know the dimensions of the island please.

A: The island has a calacatta marble countertop.

**Q: What's the stain on the island?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The contrasting color of the surrounding cabinets is Frosty White with Brown Glaze.

**Q: What door style is this?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The door style in this kitchen is Independence inset and features frosty white finish on maple wood.

**Q: What is the color & glaze on this cabinet?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Your welcome! :)
