Weppner Architects sets the stage for you to live in ease, comfort, and elegance.

You may feel excited yet anxious about hiring an architect because you cannot really know how your space will turn out.

You may have heard from your friends how after the end of their construction process, they felt awful, ashamed, and embarrassed that they spent all this money and still didn’t get what they wanted.

They thought an architect would fully understand their daily living and work needs, and design a space that would meet those requirements easily. But that hadn't happen for them.

Imagining your life and work needs is the kind of thinking I developed as a set designer. Now as an architect, I incorporate that thinking as I conceive your new space to make your daily experience better - with effective storage, visually balanced room layouts, and comfortable spaces.

In each stage of your design process, we listen to your stories about what worked or didn’t work, what you wished your space would have been like, and your special memories of places you have loved.

By telling us what matters the most to you, we can give you the best practical options to make that magic happen in your space.

We’ll help you to express yourself in visually exciting ways… and love to work with clients who are willing to explore innovative design options.

**★★★★★ — Lori Denman, Nov. 2016**

> When Hurricane Sandy hit our new (old) home, we unexpectedly had to do a total remediation & remodel. The cost was huge, and although we couldn't afford to hire Christina, she guided our project, providing excellent recommendations from top to bottom. Christina generously made herself available by phone, and her suggestions saved us time, money and headache. We absolutely LOVE our home! We are grateful to Christina's sense of style, professionalism and extensive knowledge - truly a superb experience.

**★★★★★ — John Con, Oct. 2016**

> Weppner Architect’s redesign of my house will make selling my house easier.
>
> Having known Christina Weppner for many years I never thought I'd need an architect. But having a residence in need of renovation prior to a sale I was very grateful for the opportunity to use her insights.
>
> I needed renovation of a kitchen, laundry, pantry, fireplace area, foyer and two baths. WHEW! Christina listened and heard all my concerns. She offered suggestions from redoing flow patterns making movement more gracious to adapting reuse of cabinet doors in a new location to give a finished look to shelving around a fireplace. She even talked with a realtor who offered suggestions. Christina took all ideas into consideration and offered pros and cons for me to think about. She consulted with me as to cost and design. She evaluated contractors with me so that my budget would be met. She was a true professional.
>
> Light was addressed and we converted almost all the home’s interior incandescent fixtures over to LEDs. Christina felt that a warmer color temperature (3,000 k) would give a “homey” feel. While I had other thoughts on the matter I felt confident in her assessment to be sure the color temperature matched throughout the house, starting with the foyer, halls, family room, etc. The kitchen got recessed ceiling lighting, but proportionally designated to be 4”, not the standard 6” recessed cans. The new kitchen cabinets had under mounted LED lights attached to give brightness to the work area and a glow when being the only lights on in the kitchen. Also a peninsula got removed with an island that can seat three installed. LED pendant lights over the island give good light for eating, or as a work area.
>
> A linoleum floor got pulled up and oak flooring installed to match and weave into the pattern of the home’s family room. And a dark cherry framework in the floor of the family room had one piece of wood much lighter than the rest. Christina worked long distance to assist flooring personnel to apply a stain that was a spot on match.
>
> The house sits, for the most part, on a North South axis. Colors, therefore, needed to be addressed. On the bright South Side of the kitchen-family room a cool neutral grey. In the shadowy front room she selected a warm neutral “peach” to brighten the feel of the room. Bedrooms got their individual touches with some hall colors blending from the hall into bedrooms.
>
> The master bath was opened up and is inviting, whereas before it appeared cramped and overcrowded. A more proportional toilet and vanity did the trick as did the open shower tiled on three sides.
>
> Christina concurred with getting all the trim work on the exterior and house shutters cleaned and repainted. And the front door and in-law suite doors received a brighter “strawberry” color to closer match the house’s brick work.
> I couldn't have been happier with what she came up with, how the design worked and how she made the project come in on budget.

**★★★★ — Dean Brown, Oct. 2016**

> Christina redesigned my New York kitchen about 15 years ago, so when I decided that it needed (or I wanted) a fresh update, I was all too happy to turn to her again. Christina is very collaborative which is important to me. She is up on new products and materials and is flexible with her/my schedule. We seemed to come to budget decisions without debate or rancor...AND she's entertaining to work with.

**★★★★ — Helaine Goldstone, Oct. 2016**

> Beautiful and creative design specifically tailored to our taste and lifestyle. The design transformed our apartment from an inefficient space to an open, airy and lovely space to live.

We re-worked the experience of two barely-connected lofts into one effective living space! A jumble of Memphis-inspired wall partitions cluttering the main space were removed to provide access to and reveal the light flowing gracefully from the south-facing windows through the TV/Media area and the Living Room to the Entry. We added 60' running feet closets all along the exterior wall behind the Kit…

  - Description: This is a photo of just the Kitchen of this 2-bedroom apartment, which I had previously renovated entirely. When my client moved in, in 2004, the kitchen had been renovated by the previous owner, so, he was okay to keep it pretty much "as is". Ten years later, he called me to redo his now-very-dated, white plastic laminate kitchen. We shifted everything around a bit, removing the defunct washer/dryer unit, installed ingeniously efficient custom cabinetry with a hand-painted finish, installed har…

A: I love my two neutral taupe (with a slight greenish tinge) linen velvet couches....they're the color of my brown tabby cats, too!

**Q: Who makes Domain or Modern Concept couches?** *(in Furniture)*

This past weekend I saw a couch in Domain Furniture. It had rolled arms, cushioned back, and a skirt. They won't give any information about who makes it, they say it is just made for Domain. It would be about $1,400 with tax and delivery so I would like to get it for less. Does anyone know where I could get a couch like that for less.

Also Macys has a nice couch made by Modern Concept. Does anyone know where I could get that for less? A local store I deal with never heard of that name.

A: Michael - I do not know. My client bought that couch quite a few years ago - it was originally burgundy leather. At my suggestion he went to Edelman Leathers and had it reupholstered in a greenish-creme. Gorgeous!
