For other reasons, our counter had to be ordered at the same time as our cabinets. I told them to first time they called we were not ready due to this. I had continuous phone calls wanting to set up a time to measure despite being told I would call them. The guy who we were told to ask questions when he came to measure knew nothing. I was given conflicting information several times and am still not sure what to believe. Very visable seams right at the edges of a sink and was told that was the only way it could be done. Installers didn't properly clean up after installation and had messy black caulking oozed all over. **★ — HU-377128529, July 2021** > We ordered our counter tops from Home Depot in Phillipsburg, NJ. We were told that is would take two weeks before they measured and two weeks after for installation. They subcontracted it to Eastern surfaces which took four weeks before they came out to measure and will not install for another two months. So counter tops we order on 5/31/21 will not be installed until 8/26/21. They never called us we had to call them. Their costumer service is a joke! If you have a choice go somewhere else. My parents ordered countertops in south jersey this spring and it took about a month before they were installed. This is a problem with the Home Depot which did nothing to help and more importantly with eastern surfaces. Cannot believe it will be three months for countertops! Sincerely, Karen **★ — HU-327900146, Jan. 2021** > Perhaps my opinion will change if situation gets resolved but I ordered countertops and gentleman who did template told me in passing, after I had signed off on template that a seam would be right next to sink. I said I wasn’t happy and he added to the template instructions that I was to sign off on seam placement before cutting. THEY DID NOT CONTACT ME ST ALL about seam. I spoke with 2 people after template was made about this and was told they’d get back to me - no one did. Installers came today with unacceptable seams and I refused installation. I have since been told they can’t help me but will install these already cut countertops but when I try to get it scheduled no one returns my calls. If they ever call me back, if they ever install countertops, and if they do a good job making seam inconspicuous I will revise my review. Men who came to do install were very nice but the people in the office are inattentive at best. First we had to go to Allentown to select our granite slab, 2 hours each way. Once selected we had so many problems with crooked cuts and install which made the counter not align straight with our range and overhang was uneven. Our island had to be redone 3 times. The second time we trusted them to pick the slab from the same lot as first and they actually brought a slab with a visible crack (natural) over 20 inches long and the other corner had black marks approx 12 x 12 that looked like a child had taken a marker to it. Insisted on the owner coming to look at this mess. We had it redone, but it took three times and countless appointments of templating, going to look at slabs, etc. After insisting on some sort of compensation, they gave us a $350 discount on a $5000 dollar job and no apology. **Comment from Eastern Surfaces, Inc.:** > Our goal is to always meet or exceed our customer’s expectations. We were provided dimensions to fabricate from, by the kitchen dealer. When these proved to be incorrect we made a new island. The customer was unhappy with the appearance of the second island. The owner went out to meet with the customer and it was agreed that Eastern would send new slabs to Harrisburg for their approval. The new island was made and the customer was satisfied. The customer was never without a countertop throughout this process.
