## Community Q&A

**Q: HELP - Drought - Lawn care** *(in Drought)*

I live in Southern California.  We have a beautiful rental property with a 10K sqft lot and a beautiful house.  the lush green laws helps bring in the $$ for the house.  With the drought we knew we had to cut back on water.   Well my gardener cut down the days but didn't adjust the water, now the grass is all dead.   We need to keep green grass on this property to keep the property looking fantastic for the tenants.  there are areas in bright hot sun and some under trees (shaded areas).
What kind of drought resistant grass can be planted right NOW to keep the tenants happy.  We are on a 3 odd day mandatory watering.  Years ago marathon grass was put in.  Areas consist of
Side yard (1/2 shade, 1/2 sun), 
two small front yard sections with a side walk separating this area (upper full sun), 
lower section (1/2 shade, 1/2 sun)
another large side area full sun 
and a lower section area (1/2 shade, 1/2 sun).
Help in selection of drought grass, yes I need grass please.  Ideas how to maintain it to keep it green.  Yes I thought of turf but no that won't work.
