> We are very pleased with the expertise and attention C & P Remodeling has given our 93-year-old house over many years with many different projects.
>
> Bob Compher, his crew, and subcontractors are very easy to work with; they are reliable, trustworthy, and responsive. Bob is an excellent problem solver of construction issues and a strong leader of his subcontractors who are first-rate craftsmen.
>
> C & P has lots of experience with quirky old homes addressing both exterior issues and interior remodeling. C & P coordinated the replacement of our roof and added eaves, eliminating our killer icicles and decreasing our gas bills. When the brick exterior of a wall needed repair, Bob Compher diagnosed the problem and found the right people to repair it. Inside, C & P replaced the windows of our family room. Later, C & P renovated our entire second floor, remodeling both bathrooms and reconfiguring the floor’s entire layout. In 2020, C & P remodeled our basement, restoring the family room’s glory and updating the utility room.
>
> Whenever we have had big house repairs which might require complicated solutions and/or multiple subcontractors, we dutifully get bids from different general contractors but select C & P Remodeling again. They are not the cheapest, but we trust them, we know they will do a good job, and we will be happy with the end result.

> C & P Remodeling, and Gary Parks, has completed three extensive remodeling projects in our home over the past 12 years, and we feel their work is exceptional. Our first project was the addition of a sunroom. We were so pleased with the construction and attention to detail that we knew we wanted C & P to plan our next renovation. In 2010 we remodeled our master bath, removing a large out dated tub area and replacing it with a beautiful, walk-in shower. All tile, cabinetry, and plumbing were replaced, and walls were modified to give us a large dressing and closet area.
> In 2016 we decided we wanted to remodel our entire first floor to accommodate an open floor plan with a gourmet kitchen. Gary helped us find a skilled architect, and assisted in every phase of this extensive renovation. He established a timeline for demolition, construction, and installation, and it was followed. Under their guidance, we reconfigured my existing space to include a home office, full bathroom, large kitchen with a twelve foot island and built-in banquette, new laundry area with ample storage, updated fireplace and family room, and custom cabinetry throughout. The renovation included all new lighting, flooring, crown moldings, windows, and a beautiful hand crafted coffered ceiling. C & P employs skilled carpenters who gave incredible attention to every detail. We stayed in our home during the renovation, and were pleased to witness all of the various craftsmen and subcontractors working together on a daily basis. They were exceptionally courteous, friendly, and conscious of the fact that we were living in our home. Every day ended with a clean-up, and plans for the next day. Throughout the renovation, Gary kept in constant contact, updating us on progress, helping locate and procure materials, and returning my phone calls and texts promptly.
> I would not even consider using another contractor after my positive experiences with C & P Remodeling. In fact, I am so confident in recommending C & P that Gary is currently renovating the master bath in my son's Northbrook home. The quality of their work, craftsmanship, attention to detail, and truly caring about customer satisfaction make them an exceptional company.

> I'm pretty sure that almost 30 years ago we were the first real customers for C&P. They did several rooms for us, including a completely-revamped kitchen (walls, plumbing, doors and windows all relocated, EVERYTHING replaced) and a new bathroom. Two points of special note: (1) All of their work has held up for the entire time, nearly 30 years, no repairs required - from structural to trim; and (2) The aesthetics (on which they made a LOT of the decisions) have held up remarkably well for that whole time.
> All these years later, we're still friends -- and if you've ever had contractors in your home, that is truly unbelievable. I just can't give them a high enough recommendation! Five Stars.

> C&P Remodeling did a great job with our total renovation of a very old building. We were transforming an old resale shop with leaks in every area (roof, foundation, windows, etc.) to a new upscale resale shop. Take a look at our pictures and you can see the great work they did. Bob and Gary were very professional and delivered our project on time and within budget. I would recommend their services to anyone. C&P Remodeling is trustworthy and does beautiful work. I would choose them again and again.

> C&P Remodeling did several large scale remodeling projects in our home and we are extremely pleased with the results.
>
> These projects included remodeling our kitchen, master bathroom, upgrading cabinetry in other bathrooms, installing new bar cabinetry and tile backsplash, and new home office and laundry room cabinetry. Smaller scale indoor projects encompassed hardware replacement on all doors and lighting upgrades throughout the house. C&P also spearheaded outdoor improvements such as the installation of a new front sidewalk, back patio and driveway.
>
> The most important factors for us when weighing our decision to move forward with C&P was the quality of the work and the ability to complete the scope of work in a reasonable time frame. Our interactions with C&P Remodeling were extremely positive at every stage of each project.
>
> The extent of the larger scale projects involved a variety of stakeholders and C&P Remodeling coordinated the job efficiently. From demolition to finished product - the jobs were done in a first class manner. At times, their were many workers on-site and C&P made sure that their staff and subcontractors were professional and mindful of caring for our house while minimizing disruption on our cul-de-sac and in our neighborhood.
>
> It’s evident that C&P has solid working relationships. Whether it was involvement with their carpenters/staff and/or subcontractors, the standards of workmanship were consistently top notch. With each project, C&P was on-site to make sure the scope of work was completed with attention to detail and a quality product was delivered. We lived in the house throughout all of the remodeling. C&P provided a work schedule with each project. This was very helpful as it allowed us to plan accordingly and ensure a smooth job flow avoiding unnecessary delays.
>
> If you are considering a home improvement project, C&P Remodeling delivers with consistency; bringing a high degree of quality and professionalism.

> We are very satisfied with C & P Remodeling would happily use them again. Co-owners Gary and Bob did a great job of finishing our kitchen remodel after another contractor failed to complete the project. Since then we have also used them to renovate a bathroom and powder room, also with excellent results. Their employees and subcontractors were careful about quality and attention to detail, and daily cleanup was very reliable. A pleasure to work with!

> C & P did a fantastic job of installing two custom cabinets in our living room, mounting of a big flat screen TV above our fireplace in the living room and completely redoing our 2nd shower and sink. They were polite, on tim, and completed the work in the amount of time in which they specified. I will definitely use them again on future projects in our home!

> C & P remodeled our kitchen in 2014, our basement in 2007, and the rest of our home - along with adding a two story addition - in 1999. We keep going back to C & P because of their expertise and professionalism. C & P's carpenters are top notch; they are perfectionists who solve problems and attend to the finest details. C & P's subcontractors are also of the highest quality. Bob Compher is just the person you want overseeing your project. Bob is expert at keeping to a schedule, even when there are architects and designers to keep track of. Bob always returns phone calls in short order, and he will get to your job site immediately if need be. Bob works very closely with all the subcontractors to make sure they understand the project, and he checks their work carefully. Bob is fair, honest, and hardworking. As a result, I have a beautiful family home that's a joy to live in.
>
> C & P's remodel of my kitchen has several special elements that they handled with ease. In particular, I have a white marble backsplash along one wall that begins at counter height and extends to the ceiling. Mounted on that marble are open steel shelves with glass bottoms, and the stainless steel vent for the cooktop. Below the counter tops are custom made chestnut brown wood cabinets with steel trim. There is also a built-in banquette for seating.

> The project included remodeling one bathroom; reconfiguring, expanding and moving another bathroom; replacing internal plumbing; rebuilding and refinishing the stairs; and refinishing the second floor floors. Since the house is 85 years old, we wanted the character of the house maintained. This meant that there was salvaging and reusing of doors, hard wood flooring, crown molding and base boards. We can't say enough about how happy we are about the way the finished work turned out. The craftsmanship was beautiful. Where the salvaged materials were used, it looks as though the work was with the house from the beginning.
> Due to previous family commitment, we did have a dead line for some of the work. This they met.
> Besides the way it turned out, there are other things that really impressed us. Not only were all the workers very skilled, they were also very nice and polite. They showed up every day. (We've had bad experiences in the past where, once the job was started, the contractor would disappear for a couple of days at a time). Since we were living in the house during the project, the fact that they were very neat also really meant a lot. By the way, we did have a couple of bids for this work and C & P came in with the best bid.
> All in all, a terrific job. Wish we would have done the work sooner!

> We own a home that is both a Lake Forest Landmark (2004) and is on the National Historic Register (2006). Most recently, we received the 2015 Lake Forest Preservation Foundation Award for the two-story addition that C & P constructed. The committee was most impressed by the firm's adherence to the vision of the original architect--sharing photos of the beams that were gouged by their craftsmen to mimic that on the Southern visage of our home, noting the tile roof matched exactly as did the windows, the shutters, the wrought iron grillwork, and the brick. The interior is visually stunning, as well as accurate. As Michael Breseman, our architect, noted, C & P was "willing to not cut corners" when constructing to meet his high standards and our specifications. The kitchen, breakfast room, butler pantry, laundry room, wine cellar, children's play room, and "man cave" took our 1928 home into the 21st Century with grace and with integrity. I recommend the firm without reservation.
