The building, as constructed, is 33 feet wide and approx. 80 feet long, on a sloping 33-foot-wide lot. The building is three stories at the front and four stories at the back. Materials handling was a constant challenge. > > FirCrest obtained all the necessary permits from City Hall, and also negotiated signed permission from our neighbours on both sides to accommodate the scaffolding required. > > Plywood sheathing, rain screening, HardiePlank, 11 windows, trim, and the existing front door were replaced. As is the case with most renovations, unknown damage cropped up and was dealt with professionally. Some external drainage work was also installed on both sides of the building. > > The work was carried out in a timely and efficient manner to the required engineer's specifications, with all the workers being respectful of us as owners and tenants in the building. Our neighbours were also very complimentary on how little they were impacted during the construction process. > > We would have no hesitation in recommending FirCrest’s services. Their work has greatly improved the appearance of our building, and also ensured that some of the issues we were experiencing with a 100-year-old structure have been removed. Jack and his team safely removed the damaged material, including doors, frames and floorboards. They replaced everything to a high standard and ensured that the problem could not recur by making improvements to the balcony and doorstep areas, to prevent further leaks. Jack also managed the whole project, co-ordinating other trades. We were impressed by Fircrest’s professional approach, refusal to cut corners and maintenance of high standards throughout. Jack and the team are also personable, unintrusive and a pleasure to work with.
