With an intuitive approach, Dana Bass creates spaces that are refined, playful, luxurious, and unexpected.

And she's just plain fun.

Dana is known for infusing textures with patterns, layering elements, and mixing vibrant colors to create dream spaces for her clients.

Her namesake firm epitomizes the force behind the face as clients are inspired to DREAM IT. LOVE IT. LIVE IT.™

With nearly two decades of professional design experience, Dana has cultivated a creative dialogue between her clients—and their homes. Working as a "medium" between the two, Dana honors the history and architecture of each project while masterfully mixing distinctive furnishings and artwork in luxe, yet eminently comfortable, homes across the country.

Dana found her roots in the hospitality sector designing bars, nightclubs and restaurants with an evocative, unexpected, and glamorous flair. What she was missing was relationship. In stepping into residential design, Dana found her calling. "There's nothing more thrilling" Dana says, "than tailoring my clients' dreams and needs into a space that will transform their lives". Dana loves the process of design, the thrill of the hunt, raw creativity, and the satisfaction of everything coming together; but what she values most of all is her clients. She takes great pride in building enduring relationships grounded in trust.

So what tops the list for Dana Bass? Hearing a client remark, "You did everything I never knew I wanted, and it's perfect". Dana loves art, architecture and travel; is obsessed with her dog, Boujee, and is always up for a dirty martini toast.

Cheers to that.

> Dana remodeled our kitchen, powder bath and other areas in the house. She really listened to us and somehow knew exactly what we wanted even when we couldn't verbalize it. Then she helped us look outside of our comfort zones to make bold choices, and I'm just stunned by how beautiful and timeless everything came out. Everyday I love it more and more. There were parts I was nervous about, but seeing everything come together feels so good! I wish I could hug the house.

> Dana was a dream to work with. She is so personable, creative, and professional, as is her entire team. We needed help redesigning a smallish kitchen/utility area to make it more airy, beautiful, and functional. Dana immediately drew us in with her down-to-earth manner and her artistic sense. She listened to our needs and hopes, and the resulting design has exceeded our expectations. Every step of the way, she helped us feel confident and at ease in the design and implementation. Her experience showed in how she was able to transform a closed in and barely functional area into one of beauty, light, and functionality beyond our imagination. She knew the best materials, the best solutions, and the best contractor to get our job done. The “journey” with Dana was as stress-free as such a project could be. We are so grateful to her and her team. We highly recommend her to anyone needing a “makeover”. If we every need help again, we won’t hesitate to call her!

> I've worked with Dana on 2 major projects and she has amazed me each time. Her attention to detail and creativeness exceeded my expectations. She has a wonderful eye for color, texture, and print that blends together seamlessly. To top it all she sourced a local artist to paint an amazing art piece for a final stroke of uniqueness. White glove installation left everything palatial!

**★★★★★ — Melissa Warren, Dec. 2023**

> Working with Dana Bass Designs has been an amazing experience - we are still in the midst of boxes and settling in, but we are already grateful for every carefully orchestrated detail that unfolds at every turn. Just today I had one of many moments to come in this beautiful space that Dana created for us. Her special gift is a blessing!

**★★★★★ — Mary Green, Dec. 2022**

> We were introduced to Dana through two friends that had hired her to design areas in both of their homes. She was able to pick up their unique style and design an area that fit each of their different personalities. Since we had recently moved, we were looking for help in tying together the open living space in our home. Dana came to our house for the initial meeting to walk the space and get to know more about us and our style. A few weeks later she returned with gorgeous “boards” for each of the rooms, including items and suggestions to make them beautiful and unique. It was so fun selecting colors, fabrics and accents from the collection she provided. Install day was worth the wait! Seeing the vision become a reality was so exciting! We are thrilled with the beauty and functionality of what Dana created. The process was so smooth. Dana and her team are professional, communicative and go above and beyond to make sure it is done right. We will be calling Dana when we are ready to create our next space!

> We hired Dana Bass to do our kitchen, laundry room, and guest bathroom remodel and we are so glad we did! Every time I go into our beautiful new kitchen, I smile. Dana's vision and expertise transformed a dark and dated kitchen into a beautiful and welcoming light-filled space. She has an eye for understanding the potential in a space and designing it to bring in beauty, harmony, and functionality. She listened to our needs and proposed a design that is working beautifully for us. We added the guest bath remodel to the project and Dana produced an elegant design with beautiful details we absolutely love. We feel so lucky we found her! Dana and her staff made sure the entire process from design conception to the final punch list was as smooth as possible, which is saying something given all the supply chain considerations of the past two years. We used her contractor, Joe Rahal, and he answered all our questions and concerns. He made us feel like we were a team. Communication is key in projects like these and Dana and her staff were prompt with answering our questions and working with us whenever problems arose. Extremely professional. We could not have asked for a better experience and result.

> Dana Bass (DB Designs) has exceptional talents that will transform your home from “notable” to extraordinary. She listens carefully to understand your personal vision for the design project. In other words, she doesn’t try to force her view, and, in my experience, that is something that many professional designers do. At the end, your project will reflect your tastes but it will be enhanced because of her special abilities.
>
> Dana has exceptional taste and resources. When we could not find the perfect dining table at an acceptable price point, Dana went to work. She found a small craftsman near Fort Worth who did memorable artistic “live edge river” tables which is the look I wanted for my table. At one point, Dana drove the 30-40 miles to check on his work. She stayed there for several hours to make sure the table and the “river” of epoxy reflected my vision. At the end, a stunning table was delivered to my home at a price well below one I would have paid at a retailer.
>
> You will appreciate Dana’s abilities to assemble and combine fabrics and furniture that establish your home as comfortable but also as an enviable and dazzling place to live. Finally, she pays attention to budgets when making decisions.
>
> She’s a fabulous partner and advisor who is fair and transparent in her pricing and the design contract. A lot of people say, “I can’t afford a designer on this project.” My response is simple, “In my opinion, you can’t afford not to have someone like Dana Bass on an important remodel or design project.”
>
> She will add to the value and investment in the property because Dana Bass creates memorable, personal spaces. In the end, to paraphrase Dana’s slogan which is: Dream it. Live it. Love it. Her work will enable you to create the dream and then live and love your surroundings.

**Comment from Dana Bass Designs:**

> Wow Lisa, thank you! I hope that every client of mine has the exact same experience. Transforming peoples lives is the best part of this business. I love hearing you continue to enjoy your beautiful home. I had so much fun pulling together a style unique to you and your fun color palette. Dream it. Love it. Live it.

> Dana was a godsend from start to finish. Building my first home, I found the selection process and all of the finishes overwhelming. Having someone who was educated, experienced and who knew my style and personal preferences made daunting appointments a breeze. Dana came up with designs that I would never have thought of yet they totally captured my style and the look I was after. We topped it off with furnishings and I LOVE spending time in my new home - it's a true reflection of exactly what I envisioned. I highly recommend Dana! Hire her - you won't be disappointed.

**Comment from Dana Bass Designs:**

> Yay, thank you Melissa! I love how everything came together starting with construction to the icing on top with furnishings. Hope you enjoy!!

> My law office needed a total makeover. Many colleagues of mine revamped their space using Dana Bass Designs, so I knew I could not go wrong. My needs were unique. Dana's work far exceeded my expectations. My offices were transformed while I was on vacation. I felt like I was on Extreme Makeover Home (office) Edition. My office is not only gorgeous, it is more functional. Also, a main piece was slightly defective (I didn't see but Dana's keen attention to detail noticed) so she sent it back for a new one. Everything is absolutely amazing. As for art, I saw a painting another lawyer had in her office and showed it to Dana. Dana single handily found the local artist and had a personalized piece of work done for my office.

**Comment from Dana Bass Designs:**

> Kelly, thank you!! I had so much fun redoing your new office, night and day difference. That art is such a statement and so happy we were able to find the artist and custom color it to fit you!

> We feel so lucky to have worked with Dana on our completely remodeled home. She was referred to us as being fun to work with, full of fresh ideas and organized at balancing the budget, the client’s desires and the management of moving parts (like working closely with the contractor & various dates/deadlines).
>
> Dana instantly had a vision on where walls should stay and go, & how we could best maximize our space for our family. She helped us create spaces that weren’t previously there — we now have a perfect work-from-home office (we created a wall for it), a spacious mud room to handle the many items of two little boys (converted from a tiny fourth bedroom), a designated play room (an unused sun/breakfast room), a private master bath (originally a bathroom open to the public hallway!), a large powder bath (previously the size of a broom closet), and an open kitchen with an island fit to host all kinds of parties (no longer a galley kitchen). Dana made it an easy design process by drawing up a few options for the floor plan that we could choose from, and then bringing over all options for the materials. We just sent her our Pinterest boards initially, and she took it from there to create our dream home.
>
> Our only suggestion is to hire her BEFORE you hire you contractor. We did the reverse, and now knowing how awesome her work and standards are, we wish we had just gone all in with Dana’s contacts instead.
>
> Our home has the right flow, feel and shine thanks to DBD!

**Comment from Dana Bass Designs:**

> This makes me so happy to know how much you love your new home and value the design process. Thank you for being such great clients to work with!

**★★★★★ — docsivie, Dec. 2020**

> For clarification, I cannot decorate. I have worked with decorators in the past, picking paint colors, buying new furniture here and there, and hanging artwork. I always had it done piece mill because there was never a vision of where "the space" could go. I didn't give any real thought to the room as a whole until a friend introduced me to Dana Bass, an Interior Designer.
> Dana came to our home for a consultation, asked us questions about how we lived and entertained, and provided us some feedback on a direction for the overall space. She also quoted us a flat design fee and a realistic budget to complete all the work. At our next meeting we reviewed the completed design where she provided us with a detailed plan for the room that included fabric, paint and wallpaper swatches, pictures of new furniture pieces, etc. The presentation helped me visualize what she was thinking and for the first time I could really picture the space and was excited. We didn't have to run all over town, she brought everything to us.
> When it came to installation, I never had to lift a finger. Dana arranged all the contractors, handled the furniture's delivery and installed the room entirely in one day. We could not be more pleased with the end result. If you are looking for someone with a creative eye that can push you out of your comfort zone, is organized, pleasant and on time, then Dana Bass should be on your list.

> Thank you Nicole! Love how the rooms transformed into a better scale and style to suite you and your families needs. Keep enjoying and looking forward to the next project!!

**★★★★★ — Robert Meehan, Dec. 2020**

> A busy household with 2 children, we were looking for someone to help create and deliver a vision that connected with our passions, personalities and preferences. Having never worked with an interior designer before, we had no idea what to expect, but Dana was the best investment in our entire project. In the rare instance the construction teams executed outside the spirit of the project's design, Dana took the lead and professionally resolved the issue on our behalf.
>
> Dana took the time to listen and learn our family and habits, considered our preferences and provided personalized design elements that connected. For example, my wife is Scottish, and Dana included a simple tartan pillow, which may be the most meaningful and personal piece from the project. With one eye on the design world and another eye on our wants and needs, Dana found the balance and delivered a gorgeous functional design that connects with our story as a family.
>
> Dana has an amazing eye for design and she valued our time by being dependable, available, prepared & knowledgeable. Lastly Dana’s great energy made the project fun – I’m so thankful she took the time to spend the time!

**Comment from Dana Bass Designs:**

> Thank you Robert! You and Carolyn both were fantastic to work with. I love how everything came out and so happy to know how much you enjoyed the process and end result! Cheers!!

**★★★★★ — Marjorie Holden, Feb. 2019**

> My family and I are absolutely THRILLED with the results! Dana's spot-on taste level and attention to the tiniest detail are amazing. She was respectful of our budget and used a lot of furniture and accessories we already had, incorporating them seamlessly into our "new look".
> Dana was extremely easy to work with and her professionalism is exemplary. When it's time to hire a decorator again, she is definitely the person i will choose!

**★★★★★ — Steven Sims, Dec. 2017**

> I was referred to Dana by a friend of mine and WOW! Her attention to detail was unbelievable! I needed some help with remodeling my 1930's home. She came in listened to my ideas and took off! My home after completion turned out GREAT! I have since recommended her to multiple friends and they love her work as well! Will definitely hire her for any upcoming more projects!

**★★★★★ — Joanna Bender, July 2017**

> Dana Bass has been the greatest decorator/designer I have ever used. She helped to turn my home into exactly what I have always hoped it would be! She listened to my preferences, likes and dislikes allowing my house to become the incredible space I hoped it could be. She was so nice, dependable, super available, flexible with small changes and a total pleasure to work with! She actually made this overwhelming process fun! I am a working mom and have limited time and she always worked within my time limits, which isn't always easy! I even used her again on my second house update phase and will continue to use her for all housing changes/updates! She is my decorator soul mate!

**★★★★★ — Amy Guthrie, June 2017**

> Dana's ingenuity, resources, and vision break the mold in modern design. She has a genius sense of texture, style, and use of elements in her applications. Dana listens to your wishes yet pulls in concepts to push the comfort zone, all while executing on flawless results that wow the eye! She has great communication, expertise and is an absolute pleasure to work with. You will trust her implicitly. Thank you, Dana! Look forward to working with you again.

**★★★★★ — Shanie Gundy, April 2017**

> I hired Dana Bass for a very large renovation project on our home two summers ago. We basically gutted the entire first floor and made an otherwise traditional home more contemporary. We redid our kitchen, Master Bathroom, Floors, and converted our office into a multi-purpose room with a Murphy bed. Dana Bass was not only extremely professional but has an amazing eye for detail. She is a Designer, not just a Decorator, and is extremely talented, knowledgeable and organized. She handled the construction crew, helped pick colors, tiles, paints, furniture, fabrics etc. We just used her again for our backyard renovation this past summer and she once again exceeded our expectations! She has an eye for landscaping and a very green thumb as well! Dana Bass is fair with her pricing, honest, a great communicator and problem solver, and a pleasure to work with. Worth every dollar! We will use her for the next 20 phases! I highly recommend this fantastic Designer!

## Community Q&A

**Q: what kind tile is that** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'd love to use that tile on our backsplash. How can I find it

A: It is a great tile, thank you for the compliment! Unfortunately it has been discontinued since this project was installed.

**Q: Love island paint color** *(in Photo Questions)*

Pretty Kitchen! Could you please pass along the paint mfr & color?

A: Thank you so much @kimpomeroy. This was a custom color created for this particular kitchen and client.

**Q: love your work and the furniture. where did you get the furniture?** *(in Photo Questions)*

love your work and the furniture. where did you get the furniture?

A: Thank you! That ottoman was an existing piece of the client's. Our workroom reupholstered with a new fabric and vinyl combo and painted the wooden legs. It can be fun to reinvent existing pieces!

**Q: Have you had any problems with the glass tile backsplash?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I have the very same thing I believe in my kitchen. Completed in December 2018. 5 tiles have developed cracks months after the project was completed.

A: Oh no, that probably isn't the look you are going for! Yes it is a glass tile, and fortunately there have not been any issues with cracking in this installation. If the house is shifting or settling you may want to wait to replace, however a really good tiler can cut those out and replace. Hopefully they are all in the same area and you don't experience anymore. Good luck!

**Q: screen porch** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Or a glamorous Chef's kitchen! :)
