The foundation and framing details were extremely limited and many of the details that were provided were wrong. Just one example is the roof shown on the elevations provided did not match the framing details. The framer and I had to figure out how to fix it. It's a mess and has cost me money to fix their mistakes. Communication was extremely difficult. WE have noticed some people confusing our firm for another with a similar name, so we would like to ensure that this is indeed our company. The software we use makes it impossible to have a roof plan that doesn't match the elevations we provide. Considering everything we do is in 3D to ensure there are no errors, your experience does not sound like something that could occur with us. Due to not having any of our clients raise concerns of this type, we are lead to think this was written in error. Headed along the new build road and am looking for an architect for the project. We already have the other members of the team in place (contractor, structural engineer, designer etc.) and really only want architectural services versus a firm that does the project from nose to tail. Every architect I've approached is only willing to do every part of the project. Does anyone have a recommendation for an architect happy to provide only the architectural services? We would love to be a part of your ream project and draw your house plan for you. **Q: Stone and Cedar** *(in Building a Home)* We like the stone with cedar look that we are seeing in the houses in our area. I am wondering what would look good. We are not sure what to put above the garage and porch. Should we continue with stone from the bottom? \- Main door and garage door will have glass window doors not exactly same as the pic (Stones will be same not 2 different design like this pic) A: The plans you provided basically tell us that the designer did not draw the roof correctly and it's nearly impossible for the contactor to fix it. They followed the plans. I would suggest removing the horizontal roof return piece above the garage door so that the entire front garage wall is all one material with no separation. This will help hide the issue with the roof not being even on both sides. Then the whole wall can be stone. The gable above the front porch can be siding. **Q: Normal for a dishwasher to stink every time there's items with egg?** *(in Cleaning Tips)* My dishwasher always stinks after washing pans with eggs. I have to run it, empty the filter, then run it again on sanitize with a dishwasher cleaning tablet to get rid of it. it's driving me crazy because the tablets are expensive for how many you get, and it's a waste of time and water. A: Grab powdered koolaid mix. The small pouches with no sugar. Lemonade flavor. Just add it in the bottom of your dishwasher before starting.
