Everyone that has seen the result of their labor is amazed by the transformation of a structure that in reality could have easily been torn down. Replaced a fireplace and wall enclosure. Made wall/fireplace way out of scale for room. Installed cut stone hearth, used wrong stone that will stain if anything gets on it. Cut stone upside down so weather stains all show. Fireplace takes up so much room we cant fit a normal sofa in there anymore. Covered up only outlet on wall. Room is so ugly I literally cant spend time in there anymore. I installed the exact natural tile they wanted. > 3\. I sourced natural limestone for the long hearth, yes it was winter, > the stains were not noticeable until it dried, after much consideration, the clients told me they could live with it. > 4\. Solved myriad jobsite design problems. > > They offered me coffee and were over generous with their complements. Not to mention the fact that this project itself is featured on my houz site, which means I'm Proud of my work. > > What could possibly have led to this? You may be thinking... > Here's my best guess. After the project completed they asked me to do additional projects and to fix a few issues at their home. They didn't like the price that i gave them. They expressed to me that i owed them since the price to do the fireplace, which was an insurance job, alloed me to be handsomely rewarded for my hard work. They didn't pay a penny. I put my heart in this job. FIVE STARS > > I hired Peter to do some extensive work on my Cabin in the Western Catskills (Near Walton NY) and from the our initial conversations it was crystal that this man was really smart, a problem solver, creative and really knowledgeable about all things contracting. He attentively listened to my vision for creating a cabin that fused simple minimalism with modern appeals and amenities. He asked many questions and then set out to execute that vision with elevation by elevation brainstorm sessions. Once I knew that we were on the same page with respect to the vision for the cabin then Peter brought in his crew to make it happen. They went through this place like a contracting tsunami, working diligently everyday to get the job done. > > The project began with prepping for the buildings power wash which meant removing many items from the building that the previous owner had installed like satellite dishes, decorative animals and planters. After that was done Peter did a beautiful job of power washing the exterior during a serious rainstorm. He was like a machine!!! I have never seen anything like it before. It was 58 degrees outside (chilly) and torrentially raining while he did the job which took all day but he did not stop until he was satisfied with the quality of his work. For example, we were looking to add a splash of color around that house and had settled on a red front door but with Peter’s input we changed course and painted parts of the porch red instead.
