**Q: We just moved into our house, and our living room is slowly coming together. I feel like this TV wall is bare. I was thinking of getting two floating wallmounted shelves to hang on each side of the tv, but not sure if that will look TOO symmetrical.  Any other ideas?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

A: I love all the photos above. Another idea; you had a good start with the floating shelves but instead of one on each side put three. Instead of regular floating shelves choose rectangular floating shelves for added character. Plus you have stable storage and the complete rectangle fills the  space on the wall. Replace your current console with a floating one but in a darker shade. You can accessorize your floating shelves with baskets, books, frames and figurines.

**Q: How do I incorporate more of a contemporary look into my cottage style kitchen.  I have just replaced the white appliances with stainless which has helped a lot and also depleted my decorating budget.  Need some fun ideas on the cheap.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

A: I agree with Dytecture when it comes to changing the wall color. A deeper cooling color can change the whole feeling; a cool gray shade. Add more sleek lined furniture. With the right furniture and color scheme you can make any space your desired design style.
