Later, when we found a classic old home in Atlanta, we hired Dan to transform the home into a place that we love spending time in. > I had actually never used this site for anything but looking at the amazing photos. I recently purchased a lot in Florida and was in the market to find an architect to create the vision of the dream home I had in my head put down on paper.  When I sent in the email requesting architects he quickly respond and after a brief discussion over email he reached out with a call. We discussed my ever growing list of wants and needs. He paid very close attention and followed up with what we had discussed in an email to make sure he could wrap his head around what I had in mind. After interviewing several different architect we landed on Danny for a couple different reasons. He was able to completely understand what I was asking for, which is often hard for me to even understand. He explained what he would be responsible for and made me understand what his services did and the different phases from initial sketch to final build completion to even include interior decorating services. He took enough initiative to not only meet up with me in Florida but came to my lot and also showed me a previous house he designed and built. That house was beautiful and had little touches that I would have never thought of.

> Daniel Martin designed a deck that spanned the back of our house.  The deck included planters, seating, multiple levels, lighting and access from the front of the house.  I would describe Danny's designs as  understated--a cross between Frank Lloyd Wright and the mission style. The deck was designed for heavy entertaining.  He was very focused on designing the deck to fit our needs.  Danny even considered natural light and the positioning of the sun on the deck throughout the day as well as designing for privacy.  Danny was always open to our feedback and we made several adjustments throughout the project.  I would definitely recommend Danny and would definitely hire him again  He is a true professional and cared deeply about meeting our needs.

**Q: Siding** *(in Photo Questions)*

This shake siding is gorgeous.  Could you please provide detail on manufacturer and finish? Thanks

A: Hi Patty,
These are real cedar shingles. I believe they are "striated"(which gives them more texture.
The best way to finish these are to hand dip them in a Cabot's semisolid wood stain to get the variation. Many colors are available and I always recommend trying a few before deciding. Real shingles are the only way I know of to get this modeled look. Also keep in mind real wood will continue to grey out and more so in direct sun than in shade. I would recommend retreating about every 8-10 yrs. About the same as you would a painted house depending on location.

What is the height of the baseboards? Also, did you finish with shoemolding?

A: I believe that is a 5 1/2 inch base with molded cap and a quarter round shoemold.

A: I believe it was "Weathered Wood", GAF or Owens Corning?

**Q: What is the color of the wall behind the dart board?** *(in Photo Questions)*

It's a very nice shade of blue, any details?

A: Sorry, I don't have that color. Photos and web pictures often change the true values, so it is better to pick from paint chips or ask your paint dealer to match from a picture, than try a sample on the wall to be sure.
