The professionalism and expertise is most appreciated. The first color choice suggested was exactly what I was looking for but did not know it! Thanks to Plum Designs and Blinds we now have windows shade and a cool vertical patio door shade that is allows light in and is insulating as well. **★★★★★ — BONDERUD Design Inc. Architecture \| Interiors, May 2017** > For over a decade Valérie Akcam of Plum Designs and Blinds has provided excellent service to my clients in designing and fabricating custom draperies and valances, as well as indoor blinds and outdoor shades. Her professionalism is paired with an astute understanding of design and style. In addition, she is a joy to work with. I highly recommend Valérie and her staff at Plum Designs and Blinds. **★★★★★ — Cecilia Gunning Interior Design, Feb. 2016** > Cecilia Gunning Interior Design contracted Plum Designs and Blinds to provide window treatments throughout the home of a newly renovated home that we designed for a client. Plum also provided a custom bench cushion for the entry. Valerie Akcam, the owner of Plum Designs and Blinds, and her installer were both very customer service-oriented. She took the time to meet with the client and myself a few times to understand what we wanted. She was very knowledgeable about products and solutions available, and was able to provide exactly what the client wanted for a reasonable cost. The window treatments and the bench cushion, as well as the installation, are beautiful. I highly recommend Plum Designs and Blinds. **★★★★★ — bleu leman design, Nov. 2015** > As an interior designer working in the East Bay, I have collaborated with Plum Designs on countless projects. The process is always positive and enjoyable and the result always a success. Valerie is professional, meticulous, reliable and a pleasure to work with. She has a great sense of style and a valuable opinion; I always enjoy having her meet my clients and work with me on selecting the right style of window covering. > Plum Designs and Blinds is a key element of my interior design services. **★★★★★ — jkcanvasser, Nov. 2015** > It was easy to set up an appointment with Valerie and she was very timely. She was also timely with a price quote and accurate with timing the product's arrival. Installation scheduling is prompt. And having worked with Plum Designs and Blinds before, I feel I can trust that installation will be as professional as the rest of the experience. Perfection! My friends who have worked with Plum Designs and Blinds concur. : ) > Valerie makes selecting the right window treatment easy and pleasurable! It is an art form the way she smoothly took into account the many details to respond to my personal needs in the setting I have. I am so very happy the way that Valerie helped me pull together the different window types in my home to function well with the sunlight, make the most of beautiful views, and create an eye pleasing flow in an open floor plan. ## Selected projects - [Valley High Remodel](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/valley-high-remodel-pj-vj~2498021) - Location: Lafayette, CA - Photos: 15 - Description: Interior Remodel to an existing home - [Window Coverings](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/window-coverings-pj-vj~7554682) - Location: Walnut Creek, CA - Photos: 38 [See all 2 projects](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/window-treatments/plum-designs-and-blinds-pfvwus-pf~436280938) ## Ideabooks - [The nest](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/165686613/list/the-nest) — 4 ideas - [Tree House](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/162386538/list/tree-house) — 5 ideas - [San Diego bathroom](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/141567394/list/san-diego-bathroom) — 1 idea - [house color](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/22955541/list/house-color) — 5 ideas - [Dominique](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/93813818/list/dominique) — 6 ideas - [christy](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/4285528/list/christy) — 15 ideas - [our kitchen!](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/16610718/list/our-kitchen) — 35 ideas - [Galina](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/34639308/list/galina) — 6 ideas - [frames](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/24536128/list/frames) — 14 ideas - [paulines room:)](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/20199827/list/paulines-room) — 1 idea - [frances and steven](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/5774610/list/frances-and-steven) — 3 ideas - [Marilyn](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/5151568/list/marilyn) — 3 ideas - [Reven](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/4757011/list/reven) — 1 idea - [jim dock](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/1997369/list/jim-dock) — 5 ideas [See all 14 ideabooks](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/users/plumdesigns) --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
