The layout was tricky, but we ended up with an incredible upgrade to our space, which is the functional heart of the house. Mason did a great job understanding our problem and coming up with several layout solutions that worked for us. It was a pleasure to work with Mason from the initial sketches to the final installation, as he is easy to get along with, very accesible and he does excellent work. He brings the right balance of function and design together, effortlessly. I'm a creative director and I had a very good idea of what I wanted the space to look like. I found Mason's interior design taste very refined and loved bouncing ideas off of him.

> We interviewed several architects and design-build firms to fully renovate and add on to our mid century modern home.  Ultimately we were looking for someone who appreciated the style and would provide comprehensive architectural and design services.  As full time working professionals, it was important to have a team that could guide the process and provide technical expertise.  Mason clicked right away and not only provided vision but also was a joy to work with.  He ultimately created full architectural plans, redesigned the floor plan completely, sourced contractor and millworker, guided permit process and selected and purchased finishes.  The entire process from plans to move was about a year and he was flexible in terms of meeting during evenings or electronically and was super responsive to bring contractor questions or building issues to resolution.

> When we purchased our 1920s Dutch Colonial, we knew that it would be essential to renovate our small galley kitchen and open up the living space to make life more functional and comfortable for our family.  With Mason's planning and assistance, we completely renovated the kitchen, dining, family and powder rooms.  This was an extensive renovation that included removing load-bearing walls, relocating main plumbing, and troubleshooting the many issues that come with undertaking a project like this in a nearly 100-year-old house.

However, Mason truly crafted his involvement with the project according to what we wanted.  Although he would have been quite capable of handling the project from start to finish, we wanted Mason to develop plans based on the way we wanted our home to function, and then work with us to hire and provide oversight to our contractor, as well as collaborate on the design and finishes in the space.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Could you please share the color used for the exterior stucco?** *(in Photo Questions)*

We are about to replace our exterior vinyl siding with stucco and cannot decide on what shade of white to use.  We just replaced all of our windows with black/black hurricane impact windows.  The color used on this home is a beautiful color and contrast to the black framed windows!

**Q: splash effect water hitting sinks?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I would love to put wall faucets in but I wonder about a sink like that? I would imagine there’s some splashing! Usually I see it with vessel sinks. Thoughts?

A: Hi Brandi, the faucets don't splash anymore than a deck mounted faucet would. We have found the shape of the sink is the most important for splashing/not splashing. We used a duravit undermount here that has gentle curves so there is no splash. I imagine if you used an almost flat bottomed sink with zero radius you would get some splash. hope this helps.
