I would suggest that you make sure your quote is very detailed, listing very specifically what is and is not included and your budget for each item. Our contract went over budget despite me trying to find out repeatedly how we were progressing and being reassured that "we were fine".I consequently had no opportunity to change anything to keep us on budget .I would also make sure that you find out the caliber of all the subcontractors being used. It is a very busy time in construction right now and most seem to just want to do the bare minimum standard and move on. We had some real lemons that ended up costing time and money. We felt that our contractor chose to grab who they could to get the job done, which did not yield the best results. Others were excellent ( Bridge Electrical, Home Image interiors) > So the two stars says it.
