**Q: Trim colours** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi there, 
We are trying to decide on trim and door colours to bring this 19th century farm house into the the 21st century! 
While we want to champion the original charm of the log home, we want to modernize it slightly. The shingled roof is dark grey. We are thinking a slate grey and black for the trim. Maybe a different colour for the doors? 
Would love some input.

A: I would also agree, a slate trim and maybe have a fun custom door made with some galvanized steel with dark pewter hardware.  That would just pop the home with a little metal and change it up a bit. Good luck, a great home to work with :)

What is the wood species/stain?

**Q: Help Make This Pink Bathroom Masculine** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm moving into my grandmother's old house that has an original 1954 Pink and green bathroom which is in excellent condition. How can I make it more masculine without altering the tile or fixtures? All I can do is Paint the walls and accessorize. So far all i can think of is to use gray because the vanity cabinet is gray but even then i'm having a hard time finding a nice gray that works with both the pink and the green. I definitely want a white ceiling. The gray and white shower curtain in the first photo is staying but will not be tied back like it is in the photo. All the accessories in the other photos were my grandmother's decorations. Please Help!

A: I would bring in a little cleaner lines for the 1950's.  I just finished a remodel for a client in a pink and grey bath.  For your design
a.  walls/ceiling paint off white
b.  shower curtain Custom liner with off white linen with a jute type braided tieback
c.  accessorize with silver trays, mercury glass, glass jar for your apothecary items.  Fold small hand towels and lay in tray.
d.  Rug on floor (woven natural jute type).  
e.  window treatment- simple neutral natural woven shades.

**Q: Need drapery color for carmel taupe wall** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have this large bay/bow window in my family room - we have made a classic white wood cornice to allow hidden drapery hardware so that i can use pinch pleat drapes (i like the look) - the drapes will be mostly open but want a nice look closed and have controversy over color.  My husband likes chocolate - i am having a hard time with this - because of our matching chocolate leather chairs, ottoman and two small cubes - he doesn't like the greige/brown thing - we need an accent color and I need opinions for the drapes and the color. Help :>

A: Looking at your space, very nice large area.  
It would be great to pop a little color on your draperies.
A nice navy/ralph lauren solid linen with a oatmeal trim running down the lead panel would be a nice balance for your leather sofas.  Very sophisticated and club feel.  Then accent pillow and accessories in oatmeat, off white, navy and chocolate.  Hope this helps-Tammy Feddersen
