> We’d never even contemplated using a design firm before, but when we purchased a home that needed major renovation to be right for us, we realized the time had come. Angela immediately distinguished herself by asking different questions than any other designer we interviewed; it was instantly clear her team was the right one. Working with them, we iterated on different levels of design and multiple styles to help us find the right one to showcase our lovely Sonoma home and its grounds. Urban Chalet then helped us interview and select a GC to execute on our shared vision, as enhanced by them. Some of their ideas were simply amazing and really help make the home extra special! A few noteworthy points:
> •The design plans were approved by the County on their first submission (rare!)
> •I can think of multiple examples where they protected us from ourselves, sharing their experience to avoid short-sighted decisions – e.g. we got a bit of an education on when and why to opt for the higher-end products versus when they just weren’t needed
> •We were basically on time and on budget, with only a few of those surprises that invariably arise. When they did, UC helped solve them. While our architecture, design and project management costs were approx. 12-15% of total project cost, this expense probably ensured other issues didn’t arise and surprise us
> •An old friend observed our new home “is like a curated version” of ourselves – that, in my mind, is high praise

A: Yes, it is a honey yellow onyx with custom border out of a mixture of white and yellow onyx.  This install was custom fabricated by a stone yard in San Francisco.

Hi, 
Love your Kitchen. Would you be able to share the dimensions of the kitchen and of the island?
Also, it there a pantry?

A: Kitchen dimension is 13' x 12', the island is 4' x 2'10"

A: We constructed it.  Parts are Feeney cable system, redwood posts and handrail with lighting built in to the handrail.
