**Q: How to make an off-centre window look balanced?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are currently in the process of renovating our heritage Victorian cottage. My bedroom has a wide window that is almost full length on the south wall, and on the west wall there is a window about 6'5 (2 metres) above the ground. Due to the dimenions of the room, my queen size bed will have to be placed underneath this window. However, the window is totaly off-centre, and there is not enough room to have the bed centred unerneath, as the walkway into the closet would be too narrow. How can I make this window not an eyesore? Thanks!

A: Consider a shutter centered with the bed, placed over the window & extending on to the wall... it could be 4 panels across & the side panels could have louvers closed & center panels open to let light in...
