Needless to say, I'm happy with most everything about the house, the building of my home, loved working with Melissa, and overall, it was a good experience. The stone work is lovely, the siding is holding up really well through all the hail, overall, it's a beautiful job. > There were just a few things associated with the sub-contractors that were not done well and which cost me time, effort and ultimately money. The plumbers apparently did not hook up the dishwasher, so the first time I ran it, it flooded the kitchen. Whoever installed the sinks, did not do it right, so all of them fell off within the first year (thank you for sending someone out to reattach them to the counter tops). The ice maker on the refrigerator was not installed properly, so the kitchen flooded again, doing quite a bit of damage to the wooden floor. There was someone who started hauling away the top soil (which was halted after 3 - 4 dump truck loads thanks to my mother, as I was gone at work), which is making it difficult to grow a flower garden and lawn in subsoil. Also, Melissa has worked closely with us to keep us on task and on schedule as far as choosing and ordering for all facets of the remodel. We interviewed three construction companies and chose CCM based on their job completion history and the way that Fred and Melissa share responsibility for any of their jobs. Melissa has, so far, done an excellent job working with us in determining what types of materials we want to use and how to source those materials. She also works with the subs to be sure things are built/installed the way we want them to be. Fred has charted a realistic timeline and is sticking to it. He works closely with the subs to be sure they are completing their tasks in a timely manner without holding up the project. The subs they have used on the job to date have all been very professional and have shown great interest in working in a way that the job gets done the way we want it done as homeowners. The job is scheduled to be done in mid to late August and I have every confidence we will meet that completion schedule. We were introduced to CCM through our architect, who had set up interviews with three different builders. We met with Fred and Anna first and promptly cancelled the other interviews. We knew instantly, CCM would be our home builder and never regretted the decision. Fred understood the codes and inspectors in the city of Golden, making the inspection process easy and painless. His relationships with the trades and business ethics allow him to hire the best trades in their fields. Anna kept us on schedule and helped with all the interior design decision we never knew we needed to make. When desired, she gave us the guidance needed when the choices were overwhelming. They made the process of building our home fun, stress free, on time and on budget. We have several friends who have chosen other builders and we watched them struggle and said to ourselves, this wouldn’t have happened if they had CCM. The first time we met with Fred he said they wanted CCM to build all of our homes. This company understands the building process, and is therefore able to find good pricing and the best possible products while still staying within the customer's budget. For example, I was working with a designer and looking for new front doors. The designer found doors I liked in a catalog, and I showed them to Fred, who was able to find comparable doors from one of his sources at half the price, and they look great!!! This company also knows how to schedule their subcontractors efficiently and to present realistic timelines to their customers. The remodel doubled the existing square footage and involved modifying the original basement foundation, roof, plumbing and electrical systems, HVAC, windows, exterior finishes, etc. CCM's staff were professional, knowledgeable, efficient, organized, and able to efficiently address unanticipated problems throughout the project. My husband and I always felt we were in good hands and that CCM was our advocate. The staff were open to our ideas and requests during construction, and they worked with us to find solutions that fit our budget. Ultimately CCM completed our project on-time and on-budget, and 10-years later, we are very satisfied with the quality of their work. We have recommended CCM to numerous people since our project, and all have had similar experiences to ours.
