He happily provided several design iterations to meet our needs and was extremely responsive to a few last minute changes. He oversaw the installation and paid close attention to every small detail. John was a pleasure to work with throughout the project and we would highly recommend John and his company for any home improvement. **★★★★★ — Jovana Lubarda, Aug. 2019** > Herriot Kitchen Design did an incredible job helping us achieve our vision of our perfect loft. John was extremely knowledgeable and agile in his designs and worked with us to completely re-imagine our space and add a modern flair! This past spring, we worked with Herriot Kitchen Design to build a completely renovated modern washroom, an addition to our island that created a custom dining space, and expanding the use of our kitchen space with a nicely done enclosure of our wine fridge and addition of a chopping board above for extra prep space. But perhaps the most ingenious solution that John helped us to create solved one of the most important issues we had living in a downtown loft - storage space. John utilized the advantage of tall ceiling height to design and create beautiful custom cabinets for our clothes complete with lighting, pull out shelves for nicely storing and protecting shoes, and shelving with plenty of space for my 2+ normal closets of clothing, coats, and my husband's suits/ties and more! He even built a little broom closet in a loft! We have been in many lofts at the Toy Factory in Liberty Village over the years as we were looking for our perfect place. The custom cabinets and all of the work of Herriot Kitchen Design was by far the best utilization of condo space we have seen in this building. We are now working with John to build a custom media/entertainment center complete with a setup for my DJing equipment, record player, and vinyl. I would highly recommend John and Herriot Kitchen Design! **★★★★★ — Terry Lesyk, July 2016** > We are VERY Pleased with John Courtney from Herriot Kitchen Design. John understood our needs and wants and worked with us tirelessly to transform our old and outdated little "builder's kitchen" to a Masterpiece that we enjoy walking into and using every day. Every time someone walks into our kitchen, they are overwhelmed by the spacious and warm atmosphere. Our "new" kitchen is almost 3 years old now, but still looks "rich and brand new". > > Thanks John, for working with us to make our "Dream Come True"! > The "Magazine Featured" Kitchens ARE POSSIBLE with Herriot Kitchen Design! **Comment from Herriot Kitchen Design:** > Thank you very much for your very gracious review. It was a pleasure working with you on this project and so glad that you were so open to the new ideas that allowed us to make this happen. **★★★★★ — nichols\_g, Sept. 2015** > We had a new kitchen (from the studs out) put in two years ago by Herriot Kitchen Design. The quality, workmanship and timeliness of the install was superb, no complaints, John walked us through the process and the tradesmen were of the highest caliber. If you want it done up right, finest quality, on time reno and gifted workmanship, you can trust this company. > > G & L, > Ajax, Ontario **★★★★★ — fanawallace, Sept. 2015** > We hired John Courtney of Herriot Kitchen Design to design and install the cabinets in our newly renovated kitchen. I cannot say enough about John's professionalism. John was very courteous, responsive, and patient with our numerous requests and changes and delivered a very good product. His installers were excellent and he made that part of our renovation seamless. All and all we were very happy with his services and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend John and his team to anyone. > Houzz gave me the ideas, and John delivered them. > > Fana Wallace **★★★★★ — sheilamonette, Aug. 2015** > We bought a beach condo with its predictable builder finishes. It is now our dream space because of Herriot Kitchen Design. The transformation to our kitchen, den and 2 bathrooms is breathtaking. Anyone who has ever undertaken such a major renovation, knows the risks. I could not be happier with the results. Allie brings a depth of creativity and professionalism to the task that is fresh, imaginative and energetic, and also very grounded. Her colleague John was masterful at the seamless management of the contractor's work. He confidently presided over the demolition, electrical and plumbing work. We never worried about 'who was on first' and what needed to be scheduled next. Allie worked diligently to keep our project within the budget, stayed true to the timelines and calmly persevered when the universe conspired to derail any small element. I feel we have a space that is unique in its detail and very polished. Our neighbours saw the result, and picked up the phone to call Herriot as well. If you want creativity from real professionals, Herriot can deliver. **Comment from Herriot Kitchen Design:** > John and I are very flattered and thank you, Sheila, for your lovely comments. You have been a pleasure to work with and we hope you enjoy many years of pleasure from the new spaces we created together. ## Selected projects - [Fresh Blue](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/fresh-blue-pj-vj~1545355) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 6 - [MODERN WONDER](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/modern-wonder-pj-vj~1320982) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 4 - [TIMELESS BEAUTY](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/timeless-beauty-pj-vj~1320949) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 5 - [TRADITIONAL AND TIMELESS](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/traditional-and-timeless-pj-vj~1320902) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 5 - [TIMELESS AND WHITE](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/timeless-and-white-pj-vj~1320881) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 4 - [COLOURFUL FARMHOUSE KITCHEN](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/colourful-farmhouse-kitchen-pj-vj~1320673) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 3 - [SLEEK & CONTEMPORARY](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/sleek-and-contemporary-pj-vj~1320635) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 5 - [MEDITERRANEAN INFLUENCE](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/mediterranean-influence-pj-vj~1320574) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 3 - [DRAMA IN THE POWDER ROOM](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/drama-in-the-powder-room-pj-vj~1305062) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 4 - [BEACH CONDO](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/beach-condo-pj-vj~1249818) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 4 - [WARM CONTEMPORARY KITCHEN](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/warm-contemporary-kitchen-pj-vj~1249705) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 6 - [TRANSITIONAL WHITE KITCHEN](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/transitional-white-kitchen-pj-vj~1249693) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 6 - [CONTEMPORARY CONDO KITCHEN](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/contemporary-condo-kitchen-pj-vj~1249651) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 2 - [TRADITIONAL FAMILY KITCHEN](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/traditional-family-kitchen-pj-vj~1249616) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 8 - [CLASSIC WHITE AND BLACK KITCHEN](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/classic-white-and-black-kitchen-pj-vj~1249562) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 9 - Description: White kitchen, black island, recessed panel doors, black accents, black hood, open display, glass doors, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances [See all 15 projects](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/kitchen-and-bath-designers/herriot-kitchen-design-pfvwus-pf~437878982) ## Ideabooks - [Fishleigh](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/89220049/list/fishleigh) — 16 ideas [See all 1 ideabook](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/users/herriotkitchendesign) --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
