**Q: I would like to paint the brick on my house** *(in Design Dilemma)*

what colors would look good on my brick

A: It's difficult to tell what color your roof is but if it is grey in tone you could go with a grey for the main paint and a bright white trim. If your roof is more brown I would suggest a white main paint (lean towards a cream color). In both cases you can paint your shutters a darker color for contrast. I think painting the brick will definitely give your home a fresh, updated look! I attached two reference pictures to check out as well.

**Q: Need help choosing a coffee table** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Any suggestions on a coffee table for this space?  I think it needs to be in glass.  It's a small space 600sq feet. Notice the console and side glass table. Maybe I should just do a coffee table to match the exact design?

**Q: Fireplace needs updating** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I would like to remove the traditional mantel and moldings and add a floating mantel, but should I replace the current tile with something more up dated? And what? BTW...this is NOT my furniture; I just bought this house and updating, painting, etc and buying all new furniture!

A: You could remove the mantle and do a stone to the ceiling with a floating wood mantle. Another idea if you are removing the mantle is to go with a painted wood plank. And if you want to keep the mantle, I would suggest putting in a more modern tile in a neutral color applied in a herringbone pattern.

**Q: Kitchen Backsplash Help!** *(in Polls)*

Hello All~My Kitchen is full of Rushmore Maple Cabinets Staggered & painted in Linen Glaze (White). I have Bianco Antico granite countertops, Grey stone tile floors, and Mocha Beige paint color on the walls. We have stainless steel throughout the kitchen. I am hoping to install a backsplash this weekend, but cannot decide between the following choices (see below):

A: I would go with the carrera as it will provide a fresh, clean look against the darker wall.

**Q: Sofa table vs. t.v. console** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello, we just got rid of a large dark tv armoire. I moved the sofa table to where the armoire was. We may be getting a larger tv eventually, but this is it for now. I like the room as is. My daughter does not. She thinks the sofa table is too spindly and makes the tv too high and we should get a lower console. Thoughts please?

A: It's a little too high, but not terrible. As long as it's not too uncomfortable when watching TV I think you can get away with it as is.

**Q: What can I do with old wood paneling?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Living/dining room is Lshaped and more than 3/4 covered in the old wood paneling. I'd like to get rid of all or most of it.  What are some choices I have?

A: The wood wall paneling adds nice texture and character to the space. I would suggest painting it similar to the three attached concept photos. It looks great with a natural colored wood flooring too!
