> I hired Furnishr to design and set up my second home in Florida. My design consultant was quick to respond with suggestions that turned out beautifully in the house. I'm very pleased with this service.

> I had a great experience working with the Furnishr team to design my new vacation home. I live in another state and there's no way for me to get everything done easily and remotely. The Furnishr designer is patient and knowledgeable and showed me a few designs that would work beautifully. I just had to pick one style and make a few changes and then order the design package that has everything I need. The installation was also very smooth. The guys are friendly and prepared. I can't praise Furnishr enough!!

> Nice furniture and designs! I have a midcentury modern style and I'm loving how everything goes together in my new apartment.

> The concept behind furnishr is immensely appealing. In practice, it’s riddled with screwups, complications, miscommunications, and headaches.
>
> I contracted with furnishr to furnish a new home. I chose furnishr over local interior design services because of the price and, more importantly, the speed they offered initially. Things did not pan out well.
>
> The design process was largely positive. I appreciate the overall concept that furnishr developed for my house. And I think that furnishr succeeded fully with a couple rooms; probably about 1/3 of the house.
>
> Nearly everything about the execution process, however, was a nightmare. This became the point where I really wish I had opted to deal with a local outfit, in order to feel like a real person was looking out for me, and not an online bot. The delivery and assembly were poorly coordinated. The assembly team did not even know the furniture was arriving the same day they were coming out. So the assembly was rushed, multiple items were damaged, and the assembly team’s overall performance was shoddy.
>
> Certain items felt (and continue to feel) “cheap” to me. This is especially true of lighting, shelving, and rugs—basically “side” items separate from main pieces. I have had to replace multiple items and will continue to do so in the coming months.
>
> Matters got worse when I attempted to return a few items and, around the same time, was told that several items (including key pieces like a dining table) were back-ordered well off into the future. The logistics of the return process were awful. Clunky. A lot of bumbling. The same was true of dealing with getting a refund for back-ordered items and for returned items.
>
> Ultimately, a project that was supposed to be completed in October stretched out well past then. And, if I had not opted to break ties with furnishr after the problems became too much to deal with, I would have been stuck with this project well into 2022. This will still be the case, unfortunately, as I work to remedy issues with furnishr that came up after the design process.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Living room furniture placement** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi I'm playing around with the arrangement of the sofa in my living room. I'm posting pictures

one with the sofa floating one with the sofa against the only wall that would hold it, I want to see which one you think works best ?? these two arrangements are the only ones that seem to work best I'm just not sure about how the etagere looks next to the sofa . Thanks guys and your opinion is greatly appreciated

A: You beautiful home!

I agree, the floating couch arrangement works! It divides the open space into two section and gives the room a sturdy feel.

For more inspiration, feel free to check out our living room idea boards!

**Q: Dining room decor** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi!
I'm a first time home owner looking for suggestions to decorate my dining room (8\*10). Please suggest rugs, wall art and decor suggestions. Back wall is beige in color and at this point I won't be able to repaint :(

A: Hi, congrats on your new home!

Decorating a new home can be difficult. I would start by checking out some inspiration of other homes and seeing what style best fits you and your new home. You can check out our dining room idea board on our account, or visit our website for designs made by our own designers!

Best of luck!

**Q: Single story open floor plan - Wood tile or Engineered wood?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi Houzz family-
Could REALLY use some help in making this decision. I have to replace my bamboo flooring, which is in my entire home except for bathrooms and laundry room. Given the single story open floor layout ...I think it would be best to keep to one material to avoid breaking up flow.
The difficulty in decision on wood tile is concerns on how it would feel in a bedroom and whether wood tile is a fad or hear to stay. The pro along with ease of maintenance, is that I could run the tile into courtyard and outdoor room for a smooth transition (would love thoughts on whether that would work too from a design standpoint). Concern with Engineered wood is durability using in kitchen and worry over maintenance and water damage. I do however love the softness of wood vs feel of hard tile on feet. Carpet is not an option for bedrooms due to allergies.
Thanks in advance for your kindness in helping me decide!

A: Engineered wood will definitely look great in your home. Although water damage is a concern, it should not cause major issues if spills are cleaned up right away!

Best of luck!

**Q: Updated kitchen and powder room** *(in Before & After)*

**Q: Say Hello to My New Kitchen!** *(in Before & After)*

A: Wow, your new kitchen looks amazing! Love how bright and open it looks now

**Q: Traditional Kitchen Renovation** *(in Before & After)*

Our designer transformed this outdated white kitchen into a
beautiful cooking space. The stainless steel hood and tile mosaic are focal
points of the cooking area. Designed for efficiency with ample counter space,
this kitchen allows room for multiple cooks. The double wall ovens are seamlessly
built into the custom cabinetry.
