As they were finished, I noticed heavy appliances being moved back into place almost immediately after finishing grouting, and thought this was odd. Sure enough, 3 days later, I noticed significant cracking in the grout. When I alerted Mark Norris about this via email, he stated it was "normal" and they would patch the crack. A supervisor returned the following day to put new grout over the crack, which I have since learned in not a correct repair. A few days later, I noticed many more cracks and Mark came to review the project. He was there for an hour, getting upset, raising his voice, and blaming the issues with the floor on being in a condo building rather than the mistakes of his crew. After much pressure, he eventually agreed to replace the floor and provided a scope of how the project would be correctly done. He did not stick to his plan, and unfortunately, there is significant staining of the grout (30+ spots) and pinholes in the grout (100+) and the project is also not acceptable. My brand new baseboards were not removed and were also beat up and Mark said that his crew was "too lazy" to properly remove them. I have lost confidence in Mark's guidance of his crew and their judgement **Comment from Top Ten Building and Remodeling Inc:** > We fell short on this project, and I’m sorry. When the first tile installation failed, we removed it and reinstalled the entire floor at our own cost, including all new materials. The second installation still has grout issues that need to be corrected, and I take responsibility for that. > > I also let a difficult conversation get heated in a client’s home. That’s on me, not on her, and I’ve apologized for it. > > Our offer remains open: we’ll make the repairs at no cost, bring in an independent certified tile inspector at our expense, or reimburse another contractor to complete the work — whichever she prefers. > > Anyone considering us is welcome to ask about this project directly. > > Respectfully Submitted, > > Mark D.
