**Q: what color is on the wall in this photo?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love this picture and wonder if that is a sage green on the walls because it is lovely with the blue in the other rooms. My kitchen which is open to to the livingroom  has periwinkle blue cabinets and i am looking for a color that would go well in adjoining room.

A: Hi Karen, The paint used on fireplace surround is Sherwin Williams Cityscape (SW7067) in a semi-gloss sheen.

Please share more info about the banister. What’s the name/style of the newel post?

A: Thanks for inquiring - the newel and handrail are custom made approximations of the original elements in the house before remodeling began. The newel has been modified to meet modern code requirements. It does not have a name or style that we are aware of.

What kind of wood and finish?

A: Reclaimed antique hemlock removed from the house during demolition and repurposed as flooring. There are a few old growth white pine boards mixed in. The finish was a custom mix using two types of oil based floor finish with a Minwax stain added to even out the color.
