Unfortunately, she sides with the "hand that feeds her" and not her clients. Susan was basically forced upon us by our builder as a representative for Canyon Creek cabinets and kitchen designer. We felt relief working with her in the beginning seeing she was talented. However, she made several mistakes ordering our cabinets, including sizes and colors, and then tried to blame us. Luckily, we had emails to prove otherwise. Susan also sold us on the fact that her cabinets were better than custom cabinets. In the end this proved to be false; they are no better looking or of better quality than IKEA cabinets. We could have spent 1/2 of what we did. The worst part is her cabinet installers damaged our freezer panel (a large chunk of material was chipped out by a tool that came in contact with it and caused about .5 inch damage deep and in circumference) because of a deadline to showcase the home she and the general contractor asked if we could just tolerate the damage until they could get through the showcase. Guess what. That was more than two years ago and athough Susan apparently is now doing business in AZ she still has not and will not fix her damage, nor will the general contractor. This mutual refusal isn't accidential because they are passing blame back and forth, it is because they are close family friends and have joined forces. Susan is a typical sly subcontractor just in disguise as a sweet little grandmother. The cabinet manufacturer Canyon Creek has shipped many, many replacement panels but like carpet and tile, the lot the freezer panel comes from matters. The manufacturer has never been able to match the replacement freezer panel with the rest of the kitchen much less it's very next door neighbor the refrigerator panel. Recently the manufacturer agreed to redo the entire freezer and refrigerator unit in another color, but guess what? All 3 parties have disappeared leaving us in the same place as we were more than two years ago. Susan has been unprofessional as documented in emails while trying to resolve this issue. I > We highly encourage those to consider and think past her talent and false persona, the hassle isn't worth it. Susan, Canyon Creek and William Designer Builders are not recommended if you want professional, high quality, and attention to detail when considering your options for cabinets. AZ and NM consumers beware. Finally, should Canyon Creek out of Washington state or their regional representative, Dave, who is located in Denver happen to notice our bad review here we hope you consider returning our many calls and fulfilling the promises made to install our panels in an effort to remedy the hole in our freezer panel filled with putty and a very noticeable different color. Thanks** *(in Photo Questions)* A: the tile is a Matte finish 4"x16" subway from Arizona Tile in Albuquerque, NM **Q: What kind of wood are the cabinets made of?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: These cabinets are made if Knotty Cherry. **Q: What size tiles did you use in the backsplash?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: We used a 4" X 12" tile with a strip of 1" x 1" between them. Many times the field tile ( 4" X 12" ) will be something rather simple so the Deco pieces ( 1" X 1" ) can have some sparkle to them, or a different color. **Q: What is the name of this amazing granite?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Here in the Southwest that Granite is called LAVA. Our primary source is Arizona Tile but most granites have more than one name.
