I began a cabinet design company whose purpose would be to sell high quality cabinets at a reasonable value to the consumer. This philosophy sprouted from watching many of the cabinet manufacturers I was selling to producing “cheap” cabinetry that “looked” good rather than to produce quality cabinets that actually were good. In researching the cabinet company that would fit my needs, I chose to work with Amish cabinet manufacturers’ right here in central Illinois. Some of the cabinets had to be completely re-made causing another delay on top of previous delays Half of our cabinets came without hardware holes pre-drilled which needed to be done on sight - just not much attention to detail. Ignore the lights they are only there to brighten the photo. A: I have worked with a design like this before, and I would suggest you switch the refrigerator and the end cabinets next to the door. I know you may think the refrigerator next to the door will create a closed in feeling, but you will appreciate the usable countertop space and the ability to utilize the corner cabinet. The corner cabinet will be very difficult to use since the refrigerator protrudes out so far. I would also place a tall panel to the right of the refrigerator to cover the side. This would also allow you to increase the depth of the cabinet above the refrigerator. **Q: Did you have this piece custom built or was it purchased and if so where from?
