### Reviews

**★ — David Blue, Feb. 2018**

> When a project has a multitude of errors and problems, it begins to feel intentional.
>
> Our plan was to work with HomeTech to update most of our home. We decided to begin with a minor update to the bathroom in the guest house; once complete, we would move there, while the main house was being renovated.
>
> The project was to replace the bathtub with a walk-in shower. No electrical, no structural, no major plumbing. Simply add two glass partitions, shower door and tile. Two weeks was the time estimate.
>
> After three months, redoing the tile work three times and generally redoing other sloppy items, its done. The finish of the new fixtures are polished nickel. The sink faucet, is and was, brushed nickel. Just sloppy. Expensive, slow and sloppy.
>
> I believe they can do good work; but Ken, the project manager, said we got the "B" team for our project.
>
> Purchasing a renovation is tricky because you're buying both a process and a product. These guys may understand that, but the only thing consistent was making sure they got all their payments.
>
> I got a lawyer letter today. I decided to pay the final installment at the pace it took to finish the work. I guess I'm not allowed to take my time, as they took theirs.
>
> And finally, Dave Cerami, the owner. As soon as the contract was signed he disappeared. I know we are all busy, but with him, I think its more emotional. I think he abandoned our project because he didn't like us or our house or he liked something else more.

**Comment from HomeTech Renovations, Inc.:**

> First of all, I want to sincerely thank your for your business and your final payment on your cottage bath project. I certainly appreciate your response, but only wish you would have been able to respond to my prior emails and phone calls. I pride myself to be available when any need arises, as this has been a very important aspect of service for me and my company. I regret that you did not directly inform me of any issues you experienced. I can only assist if direct communications exist. After 34 years, I value solid communications, and thought that you would have reached out to me regarding specifics. I really thought that we mutually enjoyed a good working relationship up till your recent post... Perhaps you were not aware of the hand made tile that needed to be special ordered, or that there were other materials that we rely to be as represented from the various manufacturer's we work with.
> Yes, it is true, that Gerry, your mechanic, has handled a variety of smaller projects, but that does not mean he is an unqualified mechanic for your shower project. I also understand that Ken Baker, Project Manager, personally reworked the small ceiling area that was in question due to the geometry of the tile and grout alignment. I am still not sure why you chose not to communicate with me... Perhaps I now know why that you initially informed me of your on going and chronic problems in finding qualified contractors when we first met...
> I am sure that we both have different aspects of expectations, but I certainly deserved the respect and right to have you return my emails and phone calls along the way. I cannot help or explain aspects, if I do not get direct feedback... I do regret your position and feelings as this is not consistent with what we have successfully manifested to countless other customers through our past 34 year history.
> Thank You
> David Cerami, CKBR

> We fully renovated our master bath into an exquisite retreat - all thanks to the wonderful design and implementation of the HomeTech team. The project was laid out beautifully, the workmanship was fantastic and the timeline was well managed. The details were taken into consideration every step of the way. Their depth of knowledge of products as well as procedures were most impressive. We could not be happier with this project and our new bathroom.

> HomeTech exceeded our every expectation in the remodel of our master bathroom. Dave Cerami listened to our needs, helped us envision a style, and designed a master bathroom we would have never imagined! He and his team were professional from our initial contact all the way through project completion, ensuring we were involved and informed throughout. Thanks to Dave and the HomeTech team we now have an amazing master bathroom that we absolutely love! I would highly recommend HomeTech to anyone interested in renovating!

> We recently renovated our master bathroom. The design was perfect for us and Dave helped us select the finishes. As with any project, there are small bumps in the road, so as long as you have patience, you will be very satisfied with the end result. The installer was meticulous with the details. We are very pleased with our bathroom.

> I hired HomeTech to renovate my master bathroom after going over lots of different ideas and current trends. They provided me with good insight into what would look good and functional in my space. HomeTech worked with me on picking out the fixtures, tile, paints, etc that I wanted...even ordered a tub for me that I saw on a website that I loved. The bathroom came out great, and they've been responsive to follow up questions and touch-ups.

**★★★★★ — Lindsay Milles, June 2016**

> We had our kitchen, entire first floor, and half bath remodeled by HomeTech Renovations. They are extremely professional and very responsive. Dave's planning and layout has completely changed the space. All of the contractors he uses are friendly and cognizant of their work area. They take the time to do the job right with the best materials available. I would recommend HomeTech to anyone looking to remodel their house!

**★★★★★ — Jennifer Bilotta, May 2016**

> I used HomeTech for a complete kitchen renovation. Our house is a 100 year old converted stable so we wanted something unique in keeping with the aesthetics of the house but new, fresh and with all of the modern advantages. Dave did a fabulous job with the design and his team did beautiful work. I believe we got a very good value for the final project that was delivered.

**★★★★★ — crush64842, April 2016**

> This is a gut kitchen-family room-laundry-mudroom project. We had thought about the project as a 'new kitchen', and discussed what we wanted/liked for years. HomeTech's suggestions and add-ons showed us that having an experienced professional is the only way to go! HomeTech worked with and respected our ideas, but their experience added dimensions we couldn't have envisioned. We never would have thought to remove the wall that enclosed the old mudroom and laundry. This expended the family room, added more natural light and led to moving the laundry room to the other side of the entrance. (back door)
>
> All of HomeTech's materials recommendations were spot on. They suggested a more durable floor. Thank heavens! And they insisted on rebuilding the existing fireplace. It is far more functional than before, not to mention safer and code-compliant. They were able to match the 65-year old brick and no one realizes that the fireplace was altered.
>
> After five years, I still love everything about the project--layout, appliances selected, materials and colors, lighting, peninsula seating, etc. My favorite detail in the kitchen is where the oak cabinet housing the double wall ovens meets the built-in white bookshelf/cabinet unit at a 90-degree angle. The molding profiles are identical but the materials are contrasting. The detail is seamless. It shows all the qualities--expert design, expert woodworking, expert installation.
>
> Budget--no issues.
> Timing--there were delays, mostly caused by vendors, but we knew about them in advance. Good communication was key here.
> Workmen--wonderful, polite, friendly, considerate, detail-oriented, capable, skilled, professional and always let us know who would be coming when and to do what.
> Communication--excellent from setting up first appointment to setting up the professional photographer at completion.
>
> Overall, an excellent experience that yielded a wonderful new kitchen/family room, created a better entry experience from the back door and hid the laundry room.

> We had a whole kitchen remodel (except flooring) and HomeTech gave us great Ideas and service. They provided us with complete input on design and suggestions on where to shop for lighting, appliances, granite etc. Dave was always open to our suggestions and wants for our kitchen and we never felt pressured about anything. We used some of their suggested vendors (loved Adesso Granite) and some we found on our own. They were always receptive to all vendors and worked well with them. HomeTech workers were polite, courteous, clean, and punctual. They kept project pretty much on schedule and have followed up on punch list items in a timely manner. We love the look of our new kitchen!

**★ — lcsoll, July 2015**

> After careful consideration on who to use for our project of renovating our main bath and kitchen we chose Hometech Renovations. We were very excited to use a top 50 in the country contractor, as stated on their website, who handled all of the project from conception to completion. The design did not fit our bathroom or our kitchen when it came to install. After the bathroom was completed we released Hometech as our contractors for the kitchen and paid them for all materials and design fees associated for the kitchen. The bathroom was one mistake after another and the result was a broken threshold, crooked tile and granite that does not sit again the wall. The mistakes in between included installing the wrong bathroom floor (black instead of white), installing the shower plumbing in the wrong place causing a remodel of the shelving, ordering the wrong size cabinets for the bathroom from their own designs, not leaving a bias for the threshold of the shower in order for our shower doors to be frameless as designed without leaking and leaving a sink they installed untested to leak in the brand new cabinet causing warping. The project manager was satisfied with the quality of work and when asked about it stated, "All of this work is within acceptable parameters of quality". We are very sorry that we saved so much money for so many years to renovate and are left with a less than desirable finished product.

**Comment from HomeTech Renovations, Inc.:**

> I regret that you feel the way you do. Every older retro fit project shares challenges beyond the obvious and our company was able to work through your concerns resulting in a complete project which was paid in full. It is true that HomeTech as received numerous awards for our designs and quality of work. To date, we have a 96.2 satisfaction rating and regret your feelings are not with the majority of our customers experiences.

**★★★★★ — Nancy Nussbaum, July 2015**

> Our experience with Hometech Renovations was flawless. From the first contact with them, the communication was immediate and very helpful. The project was completed by talented and friendly professionals within the timetable that they outlined. The workmanship was perfect and the small "punch list " at the end of the project was completed immediately. We are thrilled with the outcome and would recommend them enthusiastically to anyone!

**★★★★ — kcconover, Jan. 2015**

> Our Hall Bath was gutted and the bathtub was moved to get it away from a window ledge. We love the new bathroom with wonderful tiling and marble. However, there were a few things that needed more communication and explanation.

**Comment from HomeTech Renovations, Inc.:**

> Thanks for taking the time for your review. I am glad to hear that you are enjoying the bath renovation!
