**Q: plain split foyer needs more curb appeal....any ideas?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

traditional split foyer, brick on bottom/siding on top.  Considering addition of flower boxes and stone retaining wall in front to line flower beds but was wondering if there are other options.  House was painted recently, not my choice of color but I was trying to work with it.  My goal is to make it stand out more....more curb appeal.  I will be adding a new black door and black trimmed side lights soon to give house more depth....any more ideas about color, details, and/landscaping I could add?  All Ideas appreciated!

I'm wondering if anyone has experience removing a nonfunctional chimney stack from their home.  I'm thinking of buying a 1920's bungalow, and I'm not sure how hard it would be to remove this stack.  It doesn't seem to be load-bearing, but it is right in the center of the kitchen and an upstairs room.  Getting rid of it would make a lot of sense, any good experiences or horror stories?  Thanks!
