> Paige from Ultra-Mod is simply the best!!! Not only will you get the best designer in Newport Beach/CDM, but most likely walk away with a lifelong friend. Because of her reputation and hands on approach, she's particular about taking on new projects so if she's considering you're home then stop your designer search! Honestly, my wife and I probably met with ten designers and none were as upfront/honest as Paige nor did they put any foresight/thought into the house before our first meeting. She came with ideas, inspiration photos, etc and set herself apart from day one. That thoroughness and attention to detail comes through in every part of the design/build and she truly makes the otherwise daunting process of designing your dream home a dream come true. Thank you Paige for not being for everyone, but being perfect for a special few :)

> This review could be as easy as, "You will be lucky to have Paige Hill as your designer.  Good luck getting her." Let us try to explain.  Paige attended all meetings with the architect as we designed the home, from scratch.  She was so respected by the architect, and they got along so well, that she had input at all levels, even architectural. As well, she attended every Tuesday morning meeting at the home under construction, and knew the construction process so well that she could help with building decisions too. It was her idea to have the two-story wine wall.  She had a great blend of modern stylistic taste, combined with value and knowing where to get the best price.  She was ridiculously organized, and frequently sent us links so that we could look up and review items to be considered for purchase.  She knew our budget, and kept us within, but not at the expense of getting great furniture, appliances, accessories, art, etc. for the home.  She is extremely ethical, and it carries over to her work.  She spent hours once scouring her emails to find where a vendor had promised us a lower price, so we could save $900.  She never lost patience going to stores with my wife to look for just the right item.  And above all else, she is a very pleasant, and nice person to work with, and smiles a lot, and likes to roll with some good humor along the way.

> I have built four custom homes and have worked with many designers. My experience with Paige Hill was without a doubt a cut above the rest and far exceeded my expectations. Paige listened carefully as I described the living environment that I hoped to create. **Q: cedar soffit stain?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the stain color for the cedar on the underside of the soffits?

A: Actually, those soffits are not cedar.  They are white oak with a clear finish.  I hope this helps!

**Q: what is decking material** *(in Photo Questions)*

looking for alternative deck materials

A: This decking is a wood composite called Cali Bamboo.  It's extremely durable and never needs maintenance!

**Q: What product was used for the Pillar/Wall on Front Porch?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: That's a zinc product called Rheinzink.  Just be sure that each panel is not wider than about 10-12" or so as this can oil can and create a "lumpy" look.  ACM is an alternative for larger expanses and I've also used a concrete composite product called Swiss Pearl.  It doesn't have a sheen so it's a more matte finish with zero chance for oil canning. Good luck!

Building now, looking to do the exact same thing in a seperate small building off the courtyard.  Our space is only 10' x 14'...

A: 10' x 14' sounds like plenty to me.  With the glass garage door it makes the space feel larger and once it's open you get a great indoor outdoor feel that is much more spacious.  Our room is only about 10' x 12' so I say go for it!

Fence design

A: It was simply framed out and covered with ipe wood, then sealed with a clear marine grade satin varnish.
