They both help us select things like lighting, paint, and tiles, which was outside of the agreement they had with us, and did an amazing job. They were always on time and within budget. Highly professional. They always stand by their work. When I had problem with the wall paper 3 years later, Nick came to see the problem and immediately arranged for the people who installed it in the first place to come and fix it without any charge to us, including for his own time. There were many times I will ask Nick for advice like wall hanging, created the time to come and help and had resources to come and hang them for me. I love love JDS and I love my designer Nick. They completely decorated our whole house when we moved in decades ago, and as our family needs have changed over the years, they have redone some spaces. What is remarkable, however, is how very well their decor has stood the test of time. We have rooms they decorated 20 years ago in which neither they nor I would change a thing! David Herchik is also a master at maximizing the space he is designing by turning flaws into advantages. In our dining room, for instance, he surprised me by turning a ceiling I thought too low into an unusual focal point by the ingenious way he had finished. Yet he is respectful of budget considerations and practical needs and never advises getting rid of something just for the sake of changing things.
