No horror stories here: the work commenced on time and completed well within the time frame that was given to us. It was comforting to know that Kip has the experience to see potential problems and to head them off before they caused delays or unnecessary cost over runs. The estimate we received prior to the contract being signed was detailed and accurate and we came in very close to the number we were given at the start. There can be unforeseen problems in the course of remodeling an older home (ours was built in the early 1900's) and Kip managed them all. Even the Building Inspector was impressed with the work as the job site was always kept clean and safe. The inspector even commented that he wished other jobs were as clean and orderly as our was! Having been a rental for the last 50 years, it needed a complete overhaul. We knew we had found the right contractor for the job, as soon as Kip started to describe his desire to bring our house to life. His sub-contractors were carefully selected for our needs and were always on time and professional. Kip was present to oversee any work by the subs. He gave this house all new electrical, plumbing, heating and air, plaster, and a fireplace. The painting contractor was here for months, stripping layer upon layer of old paint and varnish. At Kip's suggestion, we had marble laid in the formal dining room, cross-hatched with hardwood. Stunning! Our old, original kitchen and scullery pantry have been updated to a gourmet showpiece, enclosing the stove area with brick and stone, and incorporating both marble and granite. We were very happy with Kip during the process and still very happy with the work 7 years later. Kip is very honest and up front - there won't be hidden / add on costs during the project. He is on the job almost everyday. He did all the finishing work himself - baseboards, crown modeling, etc... - a perfectionist. His sub contractors were all good too. When you sign with Kip - you get a life contract - I still call him as needed for repairs at the house / advice as needed - same with his subs - I still use his electrician as needed.
