The Island top choice was an MSI Q Quartz called Calacatta Classique and for the perimeter, the customer chose another MSI Q Quartz called Carrara Grigio. I will have to ask the customer for the color name chosen for the cabinetry. Apologies for the delayed answer. **Q: what is the counter top** *(in Photo Questions)* A: FYI - Bianco Antico, Delicatus and White Diamond are other similar stones **Q: Countertop material** *(in Photo Questions)* What surface is used for the countertops? A: Typically you buy the stone leathered from the granite wholesaler, but any fabricator should know where to locate leathered stones. A fabricator (like us) has the tools to "leather" small edges, etc., but often not the tools to leather an entire slab. The benefit of "leathering" (also called antique or brushed finish) over honed for a black stone like this is that the texture actually pools finger grease so that fingerprints don't stand out as much as on a honed surface. One of the prettiest black leathered natural stones is called Cambrian Black granite. Polished it looks so plain (like absolute black), but when you leather it, it has so much character! **Q: Need help with kitchen countertop** *(in Photo Questions)* What color countertop should I use in my kitchen that has white appliances and white tile floor and oak cabinets A: I would suggest one of two options: something in golden color with lots of contrast against the white cabinets and backsplash: I like Golden Crystal, Magma Gold & Cream Leaf. The other way to go is a clean all-white look - for this I'd either go with a white quartz (like Caesarstone's Misty Carrera) or white carrara marble. If you are going to do marble in your kitchen, make sure to at least get honed material - if you're in the DC area, we do a special acid-wash finish to keep etching stains away. **Q: Island cabinet/design info** *(in Photo Questions)* Is the island made by Kraftmaid as well?
