### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Justin D, Nov. 2021**

> Waconah miraculously rescued us from a prior contractor nightmare.
>
> We interviewed a few contractors for our project, including Waconah, but we made a mistake---we didn't hire Waconah from the outset. After the better part of a year having only made it to framing and rough electrical, and suffering from a horrific budget overrun, our prior contractor just bailed, leaving us in a position we never wanted to be in.
>
> I called Chris in July and told him what happened, and he and the team stepped in like a whirlwind and had the rest of the project move-in-ready by Christmas, on budget. Nobody believed me when I told them that time frame, but Waconah actually pulled it off.
>
> They ran an unbelievably tight Gantt chart, with multiple teams working concurrently. Our project was suddenly a beehive of activity. We appreciated that we could track the progress with daily updates, with pictures through the Builder Trend app.
>
> And as it turned out, Chris, Gerardo, and David rescued us from a disaster. I'm sure had we just started with Waconah, we probably would have taken the process for granted, but having seen the other side, it enabled us to truly appreciate the professionalism, and execution of the Waconah squad.
>
> If they're available, hire them!

> Waconah Construction is the best. Their work is outstanding, their attention to detail and dedication to quality is unmatched. They come up with creative yet practical solutions to problems. They deliver as promised while at the same time, in many aspects, exceeding your expectations and delighting your aesthetic senses! I simply cannot recommend them more highly...you will not be disappointed.

> Waconah is a well oiled machine. They were able to take my ideas and incorporate them into my project without blowing out the budget. They were very hands on with cost saving ideas that did not cannibalize the design. They had a full time project manager and a software that sent updates and photos to my phone, which was nice because I wasn’t living in my house during construction. If you are looking to work with a company that is professional in every step of the way, then look no further. I have already recommended them to my friends.

> Waconah has done a major renovation of a 1941-era apartment building for me in Santa Monica - including outside and in (project in phases). They were very responsive and did a great job. They met their time commitments and the final price was less than the estimate. The work was done to a high standard and they were very easy to work with.

> I did a major ground up residential project with Waconah Construction. I met with a number of different contractors, but when I met Chris and David, I knew this was the team I was going with. These guys are fantastic to work with. They are knowledgeable, honest and care about the details of the project. Building is not a simple endeavor, and there were certainly scheduling challenges along the way...But the Waconah team handled every challenge with professionalism, and in the end, complete integrity. I highly recommend this team, and would work with them again in a second. Thank you to the entire organization. Our home is stunning and people stop to comment all day long.

> When writing your review, consider things like the pro’s professionalism, knowledge, work quality, and ability to meet deadlines and budgets.

**★★★★★ — Andrew Evans, May 2018**

> Was looking for some help on a small bathroom tile and Sheetrock work. He wasn’t able to accomadate but didn’t let me go without giving me a contact to try. Great business to never say no.

**★★★★★ — Jen Pierce, Jan. 2018**

> Waconah Construction was recommended to me by my realtor following the sale of our home, a fixer upper in Brentwood. Chris came to the house and immediately set my mind at ease as I showed him the work to be done. I was worried the work would be complicated and break the bank but Chris assured me it was all possible within our budget. From the first day the crew arrived to the last day, everyone on Chris’s team was a joy to work with - hardworking and respectful. Chris went above and beyond to stand behind his work and make sure we were taken care of. For example, they had to turn the water off to fix a corroded pipe that connected to the water main. The fix took two days and so Chris put us up in a hotel room for the night so we’d have running water. We did miscommunicate on when the work would be done but Chris rallied to make sure we were moved in by Christmas, with the non urgent items to be competed after the New Year. Overall we’re happy with the quality of work and recommend Waconah Construction to others.

> I hired Waconah Construction for a project right here in Culver City California and I must say that the quality of construction is absolutely amazing not only are they clean and neat. But their professionalism over looking every detail aspect of my construction project Coordinating materials-labor and scheduling was just a pleasure for me being that we are general contractors in the business for over 40 years I will definitely be using this construction company again in the future.

**★★★★★ — Kelly Perdew, Oct. 2017**

> The team at Waconah Construction is exceptional. From the initial bidding process (on time!) to substantial completion they were communicative, organized and professional. They stayed on track (and kept me informed) with time, budget, and selections. I highly recommend Waconah Construction and look forward to working with them in the future.

**★★★★★ — Alan, Sept. 2017**

> My wife and I saw the excellent and detailed work that Chris did (online and in person at the job-site) and asked him to provide us with a bid for our new construction.
>
> Chris’ bid was very detailed and professionally done. He contacted us and set-up an appointment to view the job-site with his contractors right away and submitted his bid within the deadline. During the bidding process, we had some questions about the project and reached out to Chris. He returned our phone calls promptly and provided answers and possible solutions to all our questions. He also provided valuable guidance. Chris took the time to meet with us and go through the bid, which we found to be very helpful. Although we did not move forward with the project, we highly recommend him.

**★★★★★ — Allen Loeb, Aug. 2017**

> I had Waconah/Chris bid on a project about 6 years ago - foolishly, I selected someone with a higher bid, which turned out to be a disaster. Since then, however, he's been very generous with his time and advice, providing insight into a few potential projects at no cost. Most recently, I reached out to Chris for a small renovation project. This time around, he passed on me, but generously recommended someone on his team who was branching out and starting his own GC business. Chris was afraid I'd get overcharged by someone else, and wanted to make sure I was taken care of. The project is nearing completion, and Chris's recommendation has been diligent, honest, responsive, and generally terrific to work with. I'm very grateful for Chris's help, and look forward to working with Waconah one day to build my family home.

## Community Q&A

**Q: love the mix of siding** *(in Photo Questions)*

what type of siding & size is used for the charcoal side on the left?

A: The siding on the left is from James Hardie. We just painted it dark. The wood is cedar T&G, and the metal is a simple corrugated. Glad you like it! We didn't do the design, just the install. The designer deserves a lot of credit. People always stop by and take photos of this house!

**Q: Chandelier** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love it! Where can I purchase it?

A: I believe the lighting for this house was purchased from Build.com

https://www.build.com/chandeliers/c108534

**Q: What is the spacing between the batten and the width of the batten?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The batten spacing is 16" on center and is 2 2/1" wide. You can find more information at https://www.jameshardiepros.com/getattachment/a358bb20-0c5a-4cb0-bea7-b1de57a6d5af/hardietrim-hz5-us-en.pdf

**Q: VANITY** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell us where to have the vanity made?

A: This is a custom made vanity. Any good cabinet maker and finisher can do it.

**Q: who is the manufacturer of the light fixture?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I am not sure. Sorry.

**Q: countertop type and color** *(in Photo Questions)*

What type and color countertop did you use?

A: I believe the island was "Cement" and the other tops were "Misty Carrera" by Ceasarstone
