> Juliet Hsu designed a single family residence using our sustainable low cement architectural masonry block. The project featured sustainable materials in a clean modern aesthetic. Her detailed working drawings provided the masons clear direction regarding size, pattern, and orientation for their block work. The layout of door and window openings resulted in very few cut / wasted blocks, lowering the total project cost.

Where is the front door from?  Very cool!

A: Thanks! The front door is custom made from reclaimed redwood.

Not many people, even architects,  have achieved such a stunning house. How did you incorporate wiring within the rammed earth walls?

A: Thank you! Pipes for wiring was in inside the formwork before ramming the walls. Setting up formwork and electrical & plumbing pipes takes 1 - 2 weeks and the ramming happened in 1 day.

Can you tell me who manufactured the large windows.  Custom job? Are the end windows fixed and the two middle windows glide open? Are there screens on the windows?

A: Thank you! The windows are manufactured by Fleetwood and ordered through their San Francisco rep Collier Warehouse Inc. Transom windows above are fixed. Sliding doors below have screens and opens from the center (OXXO configuration).
